Palate Cleanser: 1,000 High Schoolers sing the National Anthem in 18 story hotel

by

From the poster: So, I’m in Kentucky for work and today when we got back, 1000 high school students had checked into our hotel. They had been making quite the ruckus tonight, but then did this to celebrate the start of the Olympics. Not the best video, (cause my fear kept me pretty far from the edge) but that’s 18 levels of them singing! Amazing!    Video credit: Michelle Johnson (Facebook)

Back story (H/T: Wave 3 News):   When most people check into a hotel and realize a large group of high school students are there, there is a hesitation as to if you really want to be checked into that hotel.  Thankfully, the guests at one Kentucky hotel stuck around, even though 1,000 high school students were there.

The Kentucky State Choir conference meets at the Louisville Hyatt every year. It is a tradition that every night of the conference, at 11 p.m., the students come out onto the balconies to sing the National Anthem.
