Said no Founding Father. EVAH! Tax on a product, tax on a service…yes (more and more grudgingly, even angrily, only in that Govt can’t ever seem to stop growing).
The question still remains – given that the Government can now tax you for NOT participating in the economy, by NOT purchasing a commercial offering that the Government has specified, to be shopped in a Government website, and that is totally controlled by the Government, what else will it do TO you?
However, Progressives believe that Government should have the right to force you to do the things that are good for you (and conversely, prohibit all that is judged to be bad for you).
