Marine Corps: Politican Correctness, Diversity, and Feminism for combat?

US Marine CorpFrom the Eldest, a prior Marine: “This is gonna get a lot more people killed

From the Washington Examiner, news that many of us said would soon be forthcoming when Obama made the decision that women would be serving in combat – that standards would be lowered:

The Marine Corps has delayed the requirement for female Marines to do three pullups because most women have so far been unable to pass the test.

For 40 years, male recruits were required to perform three pullups to prove their upper body strength for combat, where they would need to carry heavy equipment and potentially lift themselves out of mud walls. Starting Jan. 1, female recruits would have been required to do the same.

But 55 percent of female recruits could not complete all three pullups, compared to just 1 percent of male recruits who could not, so the requirement was delayed. The Marine Corps made the announcement without fanfare on Twitter and its TV show, the Corps Report. Currently, female Marines only have to hold their chin above a pullup bar for 15 seconds.

No doubt, that in civilian command (and perhaps, military command) are going to try to replay King Canute’s reversing of the tides in insisting Political Correctness trumps Physical Strength, that there are no differences between the sexes in those few seconds when life and death really matter.  For the sake of diversity, they are willing to discard the realities of what is vs the pseudo-reality that resides in some folks minds.  The real question will be is which will take precedence:  recognition that there are true physical differences that will matter in a fire fight, or a pushing of a political correctness that says we are nothing but multiple replaceable cogs, each exactly the same?
