Second Announcement – GraniteGrok Will Go Dark TODAY at 2pm

UPDATE: 2 hours warning!

It will take a “couple” hours is what we’ve been told to move to the new server.  Time enough to get an incremental RESTORE from our current server onto what will be our new one – 3X better than this one.

Faster page loads, we hope, and an elimination of the “max_php_child” problem that we’ve been seeing when lots of people are online (can’t go above a certain number of threads and our current plan can’t be extended).

More CPU cores, more RAM, more disk space – MORE POWER!

So, we’ll see. So, just before 2pm EDT, we’ll be going dark when they pull the plug, repoint to the new server once the reload is done, and then back online.
