After being sworn in, Governor Glenn Youngkin took office yesterday and proceeded to keep a laundry list of promises that have Democrats swearing up a storm.
Executive order one? He Banned divisive concepts and critical race theory in Virginia’s public schools.
He also banned mask mandates in public schools, leaving that decision to parents. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a governor who signed one of those here in New Hampshire?
Younkin didn’t stop there, adding his signature to several other orders, including one that removed the state from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). He also rescinded the vaccine mandate for all public employees working under the executive branch and any requirement that they must disclose their vaccination status.
He’s also signed an order to investigate the over-sexualized, gender-confused (possibly raped in the restroom) poster-child for public education in the Loudon County School district.
There’s more, and hopefully, a lot more like that but long term, I suspect he is more of the squishy RINO variety of Republicans. More a Larry Hogan at heart than a Ron DeSantis.
I hope I am wrong, and time will tell, but this is a good opening move.
