#Woke Warriors Want Dr. Seuss Canceled for ‘Racial Undertones’

“Oh, the Places We won’t Go” is a good title for a book about recent objections to the Seussian universe. A wild and fanciful place filled with a reading experience like no other. A bad experience if you are “Learning for Justice.” This Left-Wing pressure group wants schools to stop celebrating Theodore ‘Ted” Geisel’s Birthday on March 2nd.

“Realizing that many schools continue to celebrate ‘Read Across America Day’ in partial recognition of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, it is important for us to be cognizant of research that may challenge our practice in this regard,” the announcement reads. “As we become more culturally responsive and racially conscious, all building leaders should know that in recent years there has been research revealing radical undertones in the books written and the illustrations drawn by Dr. Seuss.”

Suitable replacements? The Trans in the Vans? Gay Sneeches on Nude Beeches?  Our Bodies Ourselves.

Learning for Justice was formerly known as “Teaching Tolerance,” which has promoted radical views on teaching “social justice” and “racial justice” to students as young as five-years-old. Learning for Justice is the education arm of the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

In a magazine article titled, “It’s Time to Talk About Dr. Seuss,” Learning for Justice cites a study from St. Catherine University that claims Dr. Seuss’s children’s literature is rife with “orientalism, anti-blackness, and white supremacy.”

Given that Ted Geisel was a white guy (who also animated war propaganda for the government) how could he be anything but? Theory demands that we accept this premise. Those white males created systems of power to discriminate against people based on race and gender.

As opposed to Critical Race Theory (Theory) which is an engineered academic construct that uses discrimination claims to accumulate power in the hands of the ruling class socialists.

“Oh, the places they won’t let us go,” might be a better reimaging.

And no word yet on whether they will pressure Amazon to stop offering these sorts of children’s books, not that any pressure needs to be applied.

March 2 has been adopted as the annual date for National Read Across America Day, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association.
