Woman Dead in Maine from Apparent Shark Attack (Unless She Tests Positive for COVID19)

We have some tragic news out of Bailey Island, Maine. A woman was killed in what investigators believe was a shark attack off the coast of Maine’s Bailey Island, located in the Casco Bay.”

Witnesses said the woman was swimming off the shore near White Sails Lane in Harpswell, Maine, when she was injured by what appeared to be a shark, according to the Maine Marine Patrol.

Nearby kayakers brought the woman to shore. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

This is tragic news, and as usual, her name will be withheld until family can be notified. We want to send our thoughts and prayers out to the family (and not just because that pisses off libs. We mean it.)

Losing a life under any circumstances is tragic and terrible.

But given the current climate of fear (not of sharks but from COVID19), amplified by the press and false reports, and even union teachers, should we be surprised if the headline in a few days reads, “Victim of shark attack died of COVID19”?

At this point, nothing surprises me.
