By NH State Rep. John Burt
Thursday 2-22-2018 was a great day at the NH State House.
One year ago today Constitutional Carry was signed by Governor Chris Sununu. That is me hugging the Governor.
If Gramma is late on her property taxes her interest reduction bill just passed the House. The committee vote to kill the bill was 23 to ZERO. Kevin J. Scully, David Bates, Dan Eaton and I overturned the committee and passed the bill.
-Repeal the prohibition on bottle rockets passed.
-Prohibiting sobriety checkpoints passed.
-Repeal a part of the simple assault law.
-A bill for annulment of arrest or convictions for possession of 3/4 of an ounce of marijuana passed. The vote was 314 to 24.
[The] New Hampshire Municipal Association is not going to be happy with the grandmother bill. They make a ton of money hurting grandma. The NHMA has been called a Terrorist group by some.
Sadly Campus carry failed but I tried to allow college students to save themselves. Now when a crazy goes on campus they have to wait 15 to 20 minutes for the police to show up.
The bills that passed will go to the Senate then to the Governor if they make it. Let hope they do.
