Tales from the BudComm – we’d be better off sending them to private shools

Children do not deserve a public education – they DO deserve a publicly funded education.  The money should follow the child, directed by parents and a building in a given zip code should not treat it as an entitlement

Well, after my TANSTAAFL post from the BudComm, I’ll just leave this here:

Total School District Budget:   $26,237,939

Total enrollment:  1,140

Cost per student per year:  $23,015

My, doesn’t sending them all to private schools sound like a bargain?  And that’s not adding in the State Education portion of our property tax bill…

So, what is YOUR school district costing YOU!

UPDATE: It is worse – next year’s estimate enrollment is 1,126 for an updated cost of $23,301.90 per student per year.
