SHOT: Interim and acting Attorney General (an Obama holdover) Sally Yates on Trump’s Executive Order on the Travel / Immigration Pause:
At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful.
In other words, she wasn’t going to defend it in Court.

I would have paid to see Trump’s face when he heard the news that Yates was defying his legal order. I also wonder how she thought, a hired employee, could set policy in a position that is “execute” only when it comes to it. She is part of the Executive Branch who’s job it is to carry out the Law. She had to have known that this E.O. was going to happen – did she really think she’d get away with this simply because we see Democrat AGs doing the same all over the country at the State level? And with Donald Trump as her boss?
Or was this a “grandstanding” just waiting to happen and ingratiate herself with the hard Left?
