I am SO sick of this guy constantly being the Antagonizer-in-Chief. At almost each and every turn, in almost every speech and interview, he just seems to delight in putting the shiv in and twisting it just that much more. Thankfully, the straw(man) season is just about over and we won’t have to listen to this stuff again (at least as President):
But we’re not where we need to be. All of us have more work to do. After all, if every economic issue is framed as a struggle between a hardworking white middle class and undeserving minorities, then workers of all shades will be left fighting for scraps while the wealthy withdraw further into their private enclaves.
Either:
- The irony escapes him
- Or it’s the last BIG slap he knows he can get in.
My money is on the latter, for as the RedState author stated:
Who’s framing every economic struggle as a racial one? You are, Obama. You are, Democrats.
That IS the only worldview that the Left has – race. EVERYTHING is race based including economics. Here, Obama is, yet again, parroting the Saul Alinsky race-baiting line – Whitey is almost always the oppressor, has the power, and has the money. So, why should be surprised at the racial construction of that Obama line?
Not only that, he can only see, it seems, of a zero-sum game that the pie can never expand but only fought over. Again, it is the Alinsky worldview – the Haves vs the Have-Nots. The idea that the economic pie can expand seems to escape him.
Although, given his economic literacy and the Socialist / Statist policies that he has enacted (see here), he all but created a zero-sum game outside his government based crony capitalism.
