NASA Climate Expert Jim Hansen has been insisting for years that parts of Manhattan will be underwater sometime between 2008 and 2018 because of Global Warming. He’s been sounding the alarm(ism) on this since the late ’80s. In 2001 he doubled down on his own climate fear-mongering
But nature is not cooperating with his models or his extremism, something even the IPCC began to grasp as early as 2007.
The IPCC’s estimates for sea-level rise (in their Fourth Assessment Report) are about half of previous values given. The IPCC is under attack by extremist scientists who think it is too optimistic and that the numbers should be more catastrophic. NASA scientist Jim Hansen’s sea-level value is about 20 times higher than that of the IPCC. I suppose that makes him, as well as Al Gore, a climate “contrarian.” – (New York Sun, Feb 2, 2007.)
Hansen is still sticking to his predictions, but the sea level has been dropping around Manhattan Island for years now. The only chance the West Side has of being ‘underwater’ is from overvalued mortgages. In fact, none of Hansen’s dire predictions for New York City will come true, except possibly for the increased crime, which could be man-made, but only thanks to the policies of the Mayor of New York City, not because of the weather.
And just for good measure, Climate Expert and sometime Secretary of State John Kerry, who has logged over one million air miles in a gas-guzzling jet while at State, announced that the Big Apple could make it to the end of the century.
