“Commitments Kept” – a new PAC for Kelly Ayotte. Have I got a question for them!

This came in over the transom a bit ago and I forgot to post it up:

Commitments Kept New Hampshire Launches Grassroots Organization
Bringing Cutting-Edge Tactics and Technology to New Hampshire’s US Senate Race

Really – a “Grassroots” type of organization?  When I see or hear that, I think just ordinary Joes and Janes that just decide, a la De Tocqueville, that something has to be done and grabs a bunch of other voluntary folks like them in an ad hoc fashion to make it happen.

Umm, when you read WHO is behind this, are we seeing yet another bending of the common language so as to tip its definition upside down.

Concord, NH – Ending Spending Action Fund today launched Commitments Kept NH, a new independent initiative dedicated to building a robust and aggressive grassroots organization that will train activists, deploy field staff, and utilize the best technologies to identify, persuade, and turn out right of center voters in 2016.

Using the latest battle-tested field tactics, Commitments Kept NH aims to engage key voters in a series of direct conversations on important issues. Additionally, the group will roll out a multi-million dollar, multi-platform paid media effort including television, radio, and online advertisements.

I dunno about other places across our fruited plains, but here in NH, the grassroots have common cause with the church mice in our small clapboard and steepled churches – small, very small, money stashes.

“New Hampshire is a state that prides itself on grassroots politics. This program, run by a New Hampshire based team, will take grassroots politics to the next level by using the latest tactics and technology to speak directly to the voters. Keeping Kelly Ayotte in the United States Senate is a priority and this project is an important first step,” said Brian Baker, President and General Consul of Ending Spending.

Hancock based Norway Hill Associates will serve as the general consultants to the project, led by David Carney and James McKay.

OK, I might give on this point – for Dave Carney who worked for former TX Guv Rick Perry, this may be grassroots in comparison.  But only in comparison to the size and economics of what Rick Perry has done electorally.

“It is imperative for Presidential-year voters to have a full slate of information on the records of Senator Kelly Ayotte and Governor Maggie Hassan. While Senator Ayotte has been a true leader in Congress, seeking bipartisan solutions to America’s problems, Governor Hassan has been AWOL when New Hampshire needed leadership,” said David Carney.

Hey guys – I am all willing to share the GraniteGrok video of Kelly adamantly declaring she was against illegal immigration and DEFINITELY against granting amnesty to said illegal immigrants.  Over and over again when she ran for the Senate.  So you won’t even have to get B-roll for it – for this purpose, I’ll grant you free rein in using it as long as the use of it matches said earlier declarations / intent a few years ago.

Andrew Demers will serve as Executive Director of Commitments Kept NH. Demers comes with significant grassroots political experience, having served as National Director of Voter Contact for Rep. Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign, Political Director for Sen. Rand Paul’s 2010 Senate campaign, and NH Director of Absentee Balloting for the Republican National Committee’s Victory program in 2008.

I like Andy.  But this is LEADING grassroots, having left said grassroots a while ago (you get paid, you’re a Pro Op, not grassroots).

“I’m extremely excited to be building a grassroots field program that is technologically and tactically unmatched in New Hampshire,” remarked Demers. “Our efforts will effectively and efficiently engage voters in discussions about the issues they care about,” concluded Demers.
