So what do we do when they lie to us? Part 2

Well, after I wrote this, I saw this excerpt from Senator Ted Cruz’s new book giving us an inside look at DC Republicans.  It isn’t a pretty picture and seeing that they believe us to be Big Time Chumps for believing them, I can see why some of them have steam coming out of their ears for having the Big Flashlight shined upon them – for it shows their true nature.  And basically validates what my post (and all of the previous ones like it) said – they lie to us and want us to believe it’s rain:

“During my time in the Senate, I’ve been amazed how many senators pose one way in public—as fiscal conservatives or staunch Tea Party supporters, for example—and then in private do little or nothing to advance those principles.

“Indeed, if transcripts of our Senate lunches were released to the public, I think many voters would be astonished.”

Why wouldn’t we believe it??  Their own actions have shown us even as they have said otherwise.  RESULTS are what we ALL should be looking at as well as the FIGHT IN THE DOG.  Have they been willing to use every tool at their disposal, made EVERY EFFORT?  A political Party is supposed to be in opposition in a two party set up – and this shows us not that there’s no fight in the R dog, they’re happy for any scraps they get from the other Party’s table.

Following, advocating, fighting for Principles – on our side? No, not even close.

Remember – Frank Guinta, even as he is gearing up to run again, PROMISED to cut spending when he got to DC his first time.  And did not vote against the Continuing Resolutions (which I have written about many times) that would have cut Federal Spending.  He campaigned on it and then left us in the lurch.  He lied to us.  I laid off him this past cycle – given this, should I?  This is TRUSTworthy?

Remember – Kelly Ayotte PROMISED to be against illegal alien immigration and Amnesty.  She started, once in DC, to start talking the McCain nonsense (along with other Republicans) to be FOR it.  This is TRUSTworthy?

We certainly know that NH State Senators Jeb Bradley, Chuck Morse, and Nancy Stiles (for starters) are not TRUSTworthy – they were the prime progenators of Obamacare here in NH – fulfilling the Democrat agenda.  This is TRUSTworthy?

And remember, the DCers have kvetched for years to send them reinforcements – and we did.  Have they delivered. Nope, and they ALWAYS have a multitude of excuses of why they can’t follow through EVEN AS WE’VE GIVEN THEM THE MAJORITIES THEY REQUESTED!

Not a chance in hell and worse, Cruz shows us that they don’t even CARE! I bet they’re just laughing (“them yokels…”).  Just like in Concord when the majority of the Party members said “Don’t do Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion”.  Tell me, DO they care?  Or only care until their butts are in those seats. They can’t even use the Constitutional powers they have – the Power of the Purse.  They had the chance, and they caved.  They gave up.  And last week, McConnell and Boehner GAVE Obama even MORE power (the fast track and trade authority) even as those majorities were given to STOP Obama.

So what GOOD are they??  Cruz gives another example:

His biggest gripe with the group involves how the leadership dealt with the federal debt ceiling crisis in early 2014.

“For months leading up to this moment, Republican leaders had pledged to their constituents that when it came time to raise the federal debt limit, they would demand meaningful spending reforms from this president. Rest assured, we were told, the Republicans would insist on it!” he wrote.

And as we all know, they caved yet again.  They actually helped to raise the debt ceiling – exactly what the Dems wanted.  After all, GOVERNMENT can never take the hit – and we got stuck with a higher level of debt.  Done deal.  Gee, thanks.

TRUST – can we trust you?  Many of us have had serious doubts given the lack of results for OUR side and because we ONLY see the other side’s agenda being forwarded.  Now we see the truth of the matter and it ain’t pretty. A lot of us had better start rethinking things – is this what we signed up for?

Me?  Is this even salvageable?  Is the rot so deep that it cannot be saved?

  • Gay marriage – the 300 Republican “leaders” (yes, that means you Juliana Bergeron) wanted the issue off the table and told the Supremes to do so.
  • Illegal amnesty – many DC Republicans want that off the table as an issue as well.

Ask yourself Republicans – how many issue do they want to “take off the table” in their efforts to clear the path (or so they think) to get the W?  And at what point do they take so many issues off the table (by giving up to the Dems) that they no longer have anything to run FOR?
