GrokTV: Rochester City Council – How DARE you spend our tax monies subsidizing Obama’s campaign!

While Doris Hinks was after one thing that the Councilors had lost $78,000 at the Community Center, a lot of other folks were after them for spending a lot less money ($9,400)  but on a much higher profile event – President Obama’s campaign stop in Rochester where the City Council just said “no big deal – let’s spend the money” without going, seemingly, through the normal and formal process.  I don’t live there (or near there) but the impression I get is that it is very much a Democrat type town.  Thus, when the informal decision was “An honor – just make the in-kind contribution to the Obama Presidential campaign just like Obama does things as President: with other peoples’ money.

Problem is, lots of people had lots of problem in their elected leaders not being sensitive to the fact that folks don’t want their taxpayer money spent in supporting political campaigns – regardless of which party the pol is from!  Here’s two; more after the jump!

Omer Oullette                                                                 Norm Ellis

Not that Obama would pay the bill anyways – he’s stiffing town all over, even from 2008.  Romney, however, is doing the proper traditional American thing – paying for services received.

David Cook                                                           Carlton Cooper

There were others as well – but used their paltry 5 minutes to vent not only about this BUT also to plead that the City Councilors would not sign the Sustainable Communities Initiative / Granite State Future plan
