The Trump administration is alleged to have already canceled thousands of flights scheduled to bring “refugees” from around the world to your town or city. That’s a significant number, and you’d be right to question it. AP, CNN, and The NYT have all confirmed it. By canceling the refugee resettlement program, thousands are no longer coming here; that’s people, not flights. A quick search did not produce a number of flights but that doesn’t actually matter. They are all canceled until further notice.
There is a lot of hand-wringing, pearl-clutching, and no lack of human interest series by said media about these poor people who had the rug pulled out from under them, but they all leave the same truth out. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris did this. If they’d followed the immigration law and not flooded the nation with gangs, drugs, and criminals, these poor, stranded, decent people hoping for a better life might be en route.
Democrats destroy everything they touch, including legitimate immigration and refugee resettlement. This is on you, Sandy Cortez, so stop whining about the rights of people who had to break the law just to be here. America rejected your agenda, so suck it up.
For now, there’s a massive cleanup underway across the nation and no one gets in until we’ve dealt with it. Part of that is flying the criminal’s ICE scoops up and sends back. We already sent two planes back to Colombia, but according to the president, the Socialist El Presidente running the nation won’t let them land.
We knew this would happen and wondered what the response would be. Now we know.
-Emergency 25% tariffs on all goods coming into the United States. In one week, the 25% tariffs will be raised to 50%.
-A Travel Ban and immediate Visa Revocations on the Colombian Government Officials, and all Allies and Supporters.
-Visa Sanctions on all Party Members, Family Members, and Supporters of the Colombian Government.
-Enhanced Customs and Border Protection Inspections of all Colombian Nationals and Cargo on national security grounds.
-IEEPA Treasury, Banking and Financial Sanctions to be fully imposed.
These measures are just the beginning. We will not allow the Colombian Government to violate its legal obligations with regard to the acceptance and return of the Criminals they forced into the United States!
I doubt he even blinked when he did that. And I suspect they’ve already got these all worked out in anticipation of some pushback. Trump likes to make deals, so President Gustavo Petro will have to decide what he’d like to do next. Trump is prepared to punish him, and I’m not sure what he has to bargain.
This also sets a baseline for Petro’s neighbors when ICE Air shows up with planes full of criminals on their doorstep marked return to sender.
To Petro’s credit, he is quoted as saying “…that his country would receive Colombians in “civilian airplanes” and “without treatment like criminals.” In other words, he doesn’t want his criminals back. I can’t imagine he treats his prisoners better.
So?
Trump is not gonna budge, so let’s see how long the socialist can pretend to have morality and decency (which we know is for the American media). Problem: Americans aren’t overly trusting of its socialist media (snicker).
Note: these are not the only planes of criminals that have left the country already. Deportation flights have already landed in Brazil as well. No one stopped them.
At 10 PM last night (EDT) an update was transmitted from the Press Secretary’s Office.
Statement from the Press Secretary “The Government of Colombia has agreed to all of President Trump’s terms, including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Colombia returned from the United States, including on U.S. military aircraft, without limitation or delay. Based on this agreement, the fully drafted IEEPA tariffs and sanctions will be held in reserve, and not signed, unless Colombia fails to honor this agreement. The visa sanctions issued by the State Department, and enhanced inspections from Customs and Border Protection, will remain in effect until the first planeload of Colombian deportees is successfully returned. Today’s events make clear to the world that America is respected again. President Trump will continue to fiercely protect our nation’s sovereignty, and he expects all other nations of the world to fully cooperate in accepting the deportation of their citizens illegally present in the United States.”
