Sec. of State Responds (again) to Ongoing Windham Election Night Issues

by Steve MacDonald

Donald Trump is about to be Inaugurated President, but over ten weeks after the historic win, the Town of Windham, New Hampshire, still hasn’t reconciled its ballots and counts.

The resolution will not affect any federal races, nor will any local races be flipped. Still, given the systemic problems evident once again in the most recent output of moderator Galen Sterns, there’s no way to know for sure. As Ken and Tom like to remind us, there have been problems with every election since 2020, which means (very likely) every election before that, but no one was looking.

The problem. The number of votes counted, voters checked in, and ballots cast differ. The most significant discrepancy is a 197 “vote” or ballot difference.

interviewed Tom and Ken on this and other Windham-related election issues (if you want a deeper dive). I then emailed the Secretary of State’s office to ask why that discrepancy wasn’t in the election monitor’s report and if they were looking into it. Secretary Scanlan responded personally to say they were investigating, and this week, his office released a letter amending the original report.

Two paragraphs I want to highlight. First!

We have to wonder if the State would be investigating at all if not for local election watchdogs sharing their observations with us to report to you.

Second,

Like Ken and Tom, we are baffled at the systemic indifference to Galen Sterns’s history of reporting issues. There are close to 200 articles in response to a search on this site for Windham elections in just the past four years. While some are about HLS Associates (the vendor) AccuVote machines, nearly all have ties to the town, and its elections issues.

That’s more articles than the largest discrepancy from Nov 5th, 2024.

I hope this isn’t a contest.
