In Washington DC, Republicans own the House and Senate along with the President of the US.
So why would a Republican County Commissioner of Rockingham County (a PRO-Republican County), choose a Democrat from Portsmouth to become the next chair of Commissioners this Wednesday?
He is beholden to two Democrats from Portsmouth, Kevin Coyle and his wife, Kate Coyle, for helping him beat a fellow Republican in the Oct primary.
That’s right, Steven Goddu, chairman of the Salem Republicans and a current County Commissioner, will nominate Kate Coyle of Portsmouth, a Dem, to chair the Commissioners on Wed 1/8 over a fellow Republican.
Goddu, who won a 4-year seat, is now showing his true loyalty to the Democrats.
