One does not need to be in Nashua to be familiar with Ward 8’s biggest loudmouth, Rep. Laura Telerski. She always has something to say, no matter the level of government, and she delights in airing her opinion at every opportunity. She’s akin to that FOOL that’s mentioned in Proverbs 18:2. On the heels of Comrade Volinsky’s income tax sales pitch presentation, Telerski said, “Rep. Osborne and I don’t agree much, but we agree on this. Granite Staters do not want an income tax. Period.”
Let’s talk about Telerski and her local ilk, because she voted for that same income tax as Melanie Levesque. In fact, one might call 2019’s SB1 a political grand slam in Nashua’s part of the Legislature from Hell(Shurtleff’s House and Donna Soucy’s Senate). Nashua has 27 seats in the House and 2 in the Senate. All 29 of those knuckleheads voted yes on SB1, and many Granite Staters who were their constituents still voted for them in 2020. In fact, the only incumbents who lost their elections in 2020 were Melanie and Ward 1’s Rep Bordy. That means even the infamous “Alderman Jan”(Schmidt) was reelected!
Still in office today, 3 elections later, are Mr. & Mrs. Newman, Reps Vail, Booras, Sofikitis, Lemonade Linda HG, and N95er Mangy Martin Jack. Don’t forget Rosenwald, also, even though I’m convinced that Telerski is raring to take her place on that side of the wall and thinking “any election now.” Many questions could be asked in conjunction with the first one: “Why?” Before getting into that, I’ll point out that the reason there are only 8 out of 2019’s 27 Nashua reps still in office is that 15 of them have retired and 2 have resigned in disgrace since 2019. Let’s make a list of questions to ask Telerski in case anyone has an unexpected encounter with her. The Boy Scouts say, “Be prepared,” so let’s do it.
- When you said “Granite Staters do not want an income tax,” did you mean ALL Granite Staters?
- If the answer to the first question is YES, then why are you still in office?
- Why didn’t you also say “I (Rep Telerski) do not want an income tax?”
- Do you share Melanie’s delusion that 2019’s SB1 was NOT an income tax?
- Do you think that calling something(like an income tax) by another name(like “family leave”) changes the truth?
- If you answered NO to the last question, are you willing to have a polite discussion with the Scaers about pronouns and what a real woman is?
- If you really don’t want an income tax, then why not vote for Mr. Scaer in the next election instead of Rosenwald?
In the spirit of keeping the list short, I will leave it at that, for now, but feel free to add some suggested questions in the comments. Plato once said that if you don’t take an interest in the affairs of your government, then you are doomed to live under the rule of fools. Nashua has reached that state of affairs several elections ago. One might argue 2018 if talking about state government, but 2017 if talking about city hall.
Readers, do NOT let the rest of NH become Nashua. And if Wheeler, the only one who voted against Judge Will, is your executive councilor, make sure he gets reelected because Nashua can’t reach “absolute rock bottom” without Melanie in his seat, doing the mayor’s bidding.
