Councilor Wheeler’s constituents have been waiting for Ms Melanie Levesque to make up her mind, but Dems aren’t allowed to think for themselves, especially black Dems. Want to call me a racist for saying that? It’s your free speech to do so, but what about Jonah Wheeler’s free speech? Pay attention because Melanie is now the opponent of Councilor Wheeler.
Try not to let people confuse him with Jonah Wheeler.
It was not unreasonable for District 12 voters to consider it possible that Melanie could be Kevin Avard’s opponent again, after Ming made a drama show of a statement and refused to do another Senate run. But Melanie’s mind is made up, even if Dem Chairman Ray Buckley was the decision maker. She announced her candidacy for Executive Council while accepting an award at yesterday’s MLK event. A hat tip to Beth Scaer for bringing that revelation to my attention. Beth also called attention to an Ink Link article on Melanie and her newest candidacy. I’m here to call attention to a few things that were said in that article.
The author, Rony Camille, said that Melanie said, “I really care about our state. I care about Nashua, Brookline, all of our towns and cities,” Levesque said. “So I have to be bold, to speak up, to show up, to run for Executive Council.” Melanie’s defenders will quickly point out that she lives in Brookline and previously lived in Nashua.
During a time I call “senate theater,” Senator Gannon asked Daryl Abbas if a certain perceived “right” was an ENUMERATED right. The word ENUMERATED is discussed in detail in the Constitution is the Solution series presented by the John Birch Society, which I highly recommend.
Melanie was seen at the Nashua library attending another JBS event, and a picture was taken by Concord’s chapter chair, Megan Schmitt. Back to the word ENUMERATED, I have a question for Councilor Wheeler’s constituents, especially if they’re also Kevin’s constituents, and even more especially if they’re in Rindge and New Ipswich. Those are the westernmost towns in District 12 and the ones most responsible for protecting Kevin’s seat from another 2018 train wreck. My question is “Has Melanie ever ENUMERATED Rindge and New Ipswich on the campaign trail?” What about Greenville? What about Windsor or any other similar town in the Wheeler constituency? I’ll wait because she once said to Rosenwald in the studio the names of just 4 of the 6 towns in District 12 and stopped after mentioning Greenville. Meanwhile, let’s turn back to Nashua for a moment.
The Ink Link article went on to say, “Levesque grounded her remarks in her family’s experience growing up in Downtown Nashua,…” To that, I ask “Since when was Ward 1 ever considered “Downtown Nashua” in anyone’s perspective? A longtime acquaintance of the Perkins family (Melanie’s family of origin) told me some interesting intel about the home her dad’s friend bought at 11 Durham St. This informant also told me a bunch of other stuff that I’ll keep to myself for now. As for the property of interest, you can look at the map and see that it’s practically “over the river and through the woods,” as the crow flies, to city hall 2 miles away.
Artistic license much?
Let’s talk about what was said in the article after that “beautiful home(11 Durham St) to grow up in.” Camille said, “She (Melanie) also reflected on how close this country was, historically, to banning interracial marriage.” The same person who told me where Melanie lived in Ward 1 was the one who told me Melanie has a white husband. Good for her. Good for everyone who is still happily married to their spouse, regardless of their color.
I am mentioning this because Melanie happened to be in office during the summer of 2020. All free internet searches have turned up no comments from her at that time regarding interracial marriage.
People still remember Andru Volinsky calling Ryan Terrell a token, but do they remember Monica Cannon Grant insulting Rayla Campbell for having a white husband?
I think I found enough things from the Ink Link article to mock, for now, but let’s finish with a new thought on the heels of the news of Melanie’s 2026 executive council candidacy.
Who has Ray Buckley selected to be Kevin’s opponent? My hope is that it’s Hollis Rep Kat McGhee because she’s become somewhat of a nuisance fixture. A failed Senate run would be good for all of NH, not just Hollis, because that will flush her out of the legislature for the next 2 years. If we get even luckier, she will “do a Ming” and announce her refusal to run again and do it early.
