MACDONALD: Keene Pride Get’s What It’s Looking For But Its Meaningless

Late June into July saw a flurry of conversation about a proposal to declare Keene an LGBTQIA+ Sanctuary city and a petition opposing it. The idea was presented to the town by Keene Pride, which exercised a very binary, partisan political approach. We are afraid (probably of Donald Trump), please declare that the City will protect us.

For the record, Keene isn’t going to protect you from anything, even with a declaration that was always going to be window dressing. The city ultimately settled for a proclamation, which, according to Keene Now, “will give Keene Pride what they are looking for.” It is, in essence, a statement of support. A Proclamation from the Mayor affirming nothing. Keene cannot promise anyone anything. No one, from the Mayor to the councilors to EMTs, Fire Rescue, or the police, is under any obligation to protect anyone from anything.

You might as well say a man can be a woman, and maybe that’s part of the problem. You can say it, pretend it, but in reality, it is a costume dependent on the willingness of others, who have no obligation, to believe it.

Every person in Keene has identical natural rights without regard to any other affectation. It is therefore irrelevant that the Mayor will read some words affirming anyone about anything. Keene also cannot exercise any power not granted to it by the state; there are no extralegal or extra-constitutional stipulations if you are attracted to men, women, neither, or both (if you are attracted to children, you’re going to get lots of affrimation from the other inmates in prison – unless you were employed by the state at the time).

And if you’d missed the memo, you live in a blue city. Granted, it is a small one, but it already exemplifies the characteristics of Democrat rule. It has about 50% more violent crime than the statewide average and 168% more property crime. It contains a woke liberal college campus, which, while a beacon of virtue signalling, by design, emits a culture of intolerance and hatred that seeps like poison into everything everywhere. In other words, the thing you think you need to feel safe (assuming this isn’t some bullshit effort to get attention you don’t deserve) is your worst enemy, especially now that you’ve requested special victim status from false political gods who can’t do more than read a few words to reinforce the lie.

People being mean or disagreeing with someone else’s ideas or their lifestyle is not a hate crime; if it were, most of the Demcorat party and nearly all of its leadership would be under indictment for being proud about how much they hate Republicans they’ve never met, or Donald Trump. Democrats are an intolerable lot of angry toddlers on Red Bull. Starting fires and riots, destroying property, and calling for people to be injured or killed. And they don’t give a donkey’s ass about the LGBTQIA+ community.

Ask any member of any left-wing “community” who has ever wandered off the ideological plantation, even just a little bit. Ask Tesla EV Savior Elon Musk. A darling of the left until he wasn’t.

You are an ideological slave to their agenda—all of it.

As for Keene, you could do a lot to foster equity by disbanding your Human Rights Committee. You’ll also save taxpayers millions, as these things typically accomplish little more than attracting lawsuits for actual violations of people’s natural rights.
