Spotlight of Positivity: Rep Shane Sirois

I’ve written plenty of pieces trashing bad reps, but what about recognizing some good ones?  I think it’s a good idea, but most of us already know the most distinguished ones.  I praise them “as a group,” in the same way the Patriots requested their Superbowl introduction be done after the opponent’s “chosen ones” were introduced individually.  It’s also a safe way to avoid slighting any good people by accident.

Now that the legendary ones have been recognized, what about those lesser-known?  Similar to a police investigation interviewing potential suspects in descending order of proximity to the victim, I thought I would start with adjacency to home.  Much to my chagrin, there are NO decent reps here in the city or the nearest suburbs on “river-right,” to use the nautical parlance.

Hudson has a few good reps, some not seeking reelection, and Londonderry has Kristine Perez.  Point the compass north to Bedford, and there’s Kristin Noble, sponsor of HB 1093.  There’s Keith Ammon in New Boston, as you keep turning the arrow counterclockwise, and Vanessa Sheehan and Jim Kofalt, both of which I would have liked to see carry on the interrupted People’s Work of Gary Daniels, but let’s go due west.  Way out in red New Ipswich, there’s Rep Shane Sirois of the House Vax Injury Caucus.  He will be the featured rep for this piece.

As noted on his home page, Shane represents New Ipswich, Wilton and Temple.  He’s the clerk of House Executive Departments committee.  I met him on 10/15/22, along with his slate mate, Diane Kelley, at a fair in his town field.  I already recognized Diane from her picture in an article attacking multiple reps that voted a certain way on a very misunderstood bill, but Jim Kofalt introduced me to Shane while I was visiting their tent and carrying a “Melanie Income Tax” sign.  Shane made a good first impression as he agreed to let me plant my sign in the grass there and watch it for the rest of the event, but let’s look at his record.  Keep in mind what I’ve said in previous articles about some liberty groups, but all in all, this record is a solid one.

If you have ties to New Ipswich, Wilton, or Temple, please help spread the word for Shane as November approaches.  If you don’t, that’s ok.  Perhaps you can suggest who to point the Spotlight of Positivity at next.  It should be a rep seeking reelection that’s not already a statewide household name.  Say some kind words in the comments to help me get started.
