I would like to offer a comparison of the two candidates running for Mayor of Laconia, Councilor Bruce Cheney and Michael Bordes. Voters have a choice between two different candidates, and I hope to make a clear distinction between them.
On one hand we have Michael Bordes who moved to Laconia approximately 10 years ago and immediately put out his political signs to run for state representative. Legislators vote on many critical issues but those pertaining to children are the most important. Children are our country’s future, and parents should be responsible for protecting their children’s future. Unfortunately, Representative Bordes brought his New York liberal views with him. When it came to important votes on protecting “parental rights”, he either decided not to show up or voted against those bills.
Bruce Cheney has lived, worked and most importantly served our community and State in various capacities for years. More importantly he knows Laconia well.
Bruce has:
- A distinguished 20-year law enforcement career serving first as Police Chief in Gilford and then Laconia.
- Created and served as Director of NH’s enhanced 911 emergency system for nearly 24 years.
- Served on numerous Lakes Region Boards that serve our community, making positive changes for those in need
- Ward 1 City Councilor since 2018
I worked for over 20 years as the Administrative Assistant to two professional, knowledgeable and dedicated Laconia City Managers, as well as a number of Mayors during that time. Each Mayor I was privileged to work with brought their talents, expertise, and professionalism to that position, always working with the City Manager to improve Laconia.
As you step into that voting booth, remember we need someone who truly knows our City and has worked tirelessly to protect and improve it.
VOTE BRUCE CHENEY FOR MAYOR!
