There’s a line from the original DIE HARD movie- lots of them, truly- but this one popped into my head when I heard the news that the New Hampshire State Supreme Court Chief Justice resigned (after a fake medical leave). “We’re gonna need some more FBI guys, I guess.”
New Hampshire’s judicial system could use a lot more investigating, and we warned everyone about Gordon when Sununu nominated him, but that’s not why I’m reminded of the quote. The word ” high ” in high court doesn’t mean turnover, but we’ve had some.
We’re gonna need another State Supreme Court justice, and another soft-shell Republican governor gets to pick them.
Kelly Ayotte’s job is to nominate insiders to fill positions all across state government, including judges, and we should expect her next one to be as lousy as most of Chris Sununu’s were.
We knew Gordon MacDonald was a little dirty, but New Hampshire has a bigger problem than covering for his abrupt resignation.
Which connected piece-of-shit New Hampshire lawyer or judge will Ayotte nominate to replace him?
Yeah, he was an unqualified stooge when Sununu nominated him, and the EC approved it. Our authors were all over how unqualified he was, but in New Hampshire you just need to be connected, and they are all connected. Nixon-Peabody, Shaheen-Gordon, McLane-Middleton, the NH Bar generally, the judiciary, and the dirtbags protect each other. The impossibly worse family court system, and all the ugly tentacles that spring forth from them all.
New Hampshire is like one of those small towns in the movies where everyone is dirty. We’re small enough for that, and our citizen legislature, as rowdy as it can get, hasn’t been able to rein in the injustice.
Not for lack of trying.
But when you elect Governors who are electable but not much else, and just as connected because they are part of the grift, you’re not going to get far. It’s almost impossible to convince enough people to vote for enough candidates who are not tied into the machine.
Plus, we have still (somehow) managed to get more freedom, fewer taxes, and more of our natural rights protected. Liberty is happening despite the chaos of the five families and their deep state nonsense.
I am not, by the way, advocating for you to punish the majority or our governor or our Republican Congressional candidates for any of that. This is not the time. America and New Hampshire hang in the balance. Any leftward shift in power will feel like someone yanked up the tablecloth out from under us and all our good work with it.
Democrats have no qualms about imposing radical change. Their caucus gets in line. They will repeal the good things and pile taxes and regulations into place faster than you can say I was just voting with my convictions.
Save that for 2032. We have a long, tough haul, and it just started heading in the right direction. We got tax cuts, a secure border, record-low crime, scores of fraud arrests, investigations of high-ranking center-left losers in government, a significantly downsized federal government, closing numerous tax dollars to democrat campaing laundromats in and out of government, a growing list of checks on the socialist globalists, NGOs, Antifa and RIOT Inc. are on the run, conservatism is rising around the world, and we’ve advanced trade and economic changes that could result in a grand and great American future, and and expansion of the fledgling one we’ve got here in the Granite State.
Or you can kill it in the crib and pretend you had to, or we’d have to suffer a few rinos for a few years instead of a potential American economic renaissance.
If you sit it out or vote for Mickey Mouse, Democrats will win seats we can’t afford to let them have, and they won’t pull any punches at any level of government.
And we have an opportunity to take a U.S. Senate seat and at least one COngressional seat from the child groomer, border opening, tax hiking, socialist NHdems.
Suck it up, buttercup; we’ve got time to fix those problems, but we won’t get the chance if Democrats take back any power at the state or local level.
And no, the NH judiciary won’t stop any of the local Left’s planned tyranny, which is why we need a Republican legislature, EC, and Governor, because at least that way we can niggle at the edges toward additional improvements (no matter what happes in DC) and keep the screaming commie bastards out of power while we find a way to build a bigger and better conservative bench, incluiding for judges.
One that will put judicial branch oversight outside the judiciary, impeach bad judges, vent the entire Family Law Division out of existence, hold DCYF accountable, and whatever else needs doing.
Democrats will not only not try; they will work to protect that deep state.
You have to do the best you can until you can do better, and letting Democrats win seats is the best response to that. It’s bad for New Hampshire, bad for America, and while the RINOs are always going to be weeds in the garden, at least we have a garden.
Let’s not risk scorched earth over grudges.
Democrats will do everything to corrupt liberty, especially in the judiciary.
In other words, a Democrat nominee would have been worse, and they would have refused to resign regardless of questionable associations or ethics.
