Hi everyone, this is Bronwyn Sims, Southern NH Chapter leader for The Independent Women’s Network. This next year, 2026, and into the General election of 2028, there is plenty to do. Please see my email below about plans for the coming months and action items I hope to focus on. Also, please join the Southern NH Chapter if you have yet to do so. The link is here to join.
Subject: Mobilizing Action for Women’s Rights in Southern NH — Join Us!
Dear Southern NH Independent Women’s Network Volunteers and supporters. This includes men!
I’m excited to share the launch of our Southern NH Chapter of the Independent Women’s Network—a grassroots movement dedicated to protecting women’s rights, strengthening families, and preserving parental authority right here in the Granite State. One of our immediate priorities for January- March of 2026 is supporting Rep. Jim Kofalt’s HB 148. The bill may be renamed, but this was the bill Governor Ayotte vetoed this Summer in late July. This bill seeks to protect women’s single-sex spaces—bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, prisons, and treatment centers—by requiring classification based on biological sex. This bill is critical to maintaining fairness, safety, and privacy for women and girls, yet it faces opposition and requires our active support. I hope to mobilize a lot of support to get this bill passed!
How We Can Help:
Show Up to Testify: Your presence at public hearings and committee meetings is vital. Testify in person to advocate for HB 148 and other important legislation affecting women, families, and children. Send postcards or personal ( not long) letters to committee members on the bill and to the sponsors and co-sponsors of the bill.
Online testimony via the NH legislative portal.
Write Letters to the Editor: Share your voice in local media to raise awareness and shape public opinion. Educate Our Community: Help us spread facts about sex based rights in NH. There are many misconceptions. I have included a PDF on misperceptions. I’m available for speaking events at schools, colleges, churches, rotary club,s etc. Please reach out to me directly. Participate in Training: IWN NH plans to offer more training opportunities for women, girls, and men. Stay Tuned. Also, participate in other activist training and education. Here is a good one to join in. I’m hoping to go.
Two other action initiatives that IWN NH will focus on in 2026 and beyond are energy issues impacting New England and NH families. Stay tuned for more information on this. We will also help get out the vote, educate voters about the candidates, and help candidates speak about important issues that directly affect families, parents, women, and children. Speaking of which. If you live in Keene, NH, please tell your friends and family to VOTE ON NOVEMBER 4, 2025, FOR THE CITY ELECTIONS, CITY COUNCIL, AND MAYOR. If you need more info on who the candidates are, I would be happy to provide more info.
We will continue our situational awareness and self-protection workshops, with a new session coming in mid-November—stay tuned!
Together, we can be a powerful force for common-sense policies that safeguard our rights and communities. I invite each of you to join this critical work—your voice and action make all the difference.
Thank you for your commitment!
