SIMS: Beyond the Establishment: Fighting for New Hampshire’s Soul in the 2026 Senate Race

An Independent Voter’s Call for Authenticity, Freedom, and Leadership Against Establishment Elites.

As an independent voter who left the Democratic Party in 2019 and has since voted Republican, my perspective on the upcoming 2026 New Hampshire Senate race is profoundly personal and grounded in core American values. I’m the New Hampshire state chapter leader for the WalkAway Campaign and the Southern New Hampshire chapter leader for the Independent Women’s Network—organizations that champion individual liberty, personal responsibility, and freedom from the overreach of government and political elites.

Free speech—the First Amendment—is fundamental to our democracy, even when the speech is inconvenient or controversial. I fiercely support the Second Amendment because my right to self-defense guards me against an overbearing, radical government that might someday threaten my freedoms. Privacy and private property are sacred, and government intrusion must be limited. I believe meritocracy and God-given individual rights must always triumph over excessive government control.

I also believe in protecting women’s rights—real women must have their own sports teams, locker rooms, bathrooms, prisons, and crisis centers, free from transgender males claiming those spaces. While I support bodily autonomy, I do not support abortion beyond three months and firmly champion the right to life.

Law and order matter deeply to me. I support secure borders and believe immigrants should not receive free healthcare. The culture of endless handouts must end; able-bodied people must work. President Trump’s efforts to cut welfare programs resonate profoundly with what New Hampshire and America need.

My view of the candidates:

Scott Brown’s populist, America First brand reflects the fight for liberty that I, like many independents, crave. He opposes government overreach, defended personal choice on COVID restrictions, supports the Second Amendment, and champions pro-life causes. His focus on protecting women’s spaces pairs with his grassroots appeal, making him an authentic fighter against radical left policies.

John Sununu’s experience and technological expertise promise competence and civility. Yet his ties to globalist organizations like the World Economic Forum, combined with his brother Chris Sununu’s strict COVID lockdowns, give me pause. These associations suggest a comfort with big government and globalist agendas that conflict with New Hampshire’s independent spirit.

Chris Pappas’s voting record is a clear alignment with Nancy Pelosi’s radical left agenda—expansive government, ideological social policies, and identity politics that threaten our freedoms.

Why this matters to me and many Granite Staters:

New Hampshire’s voters are increasingly conservative and independent. Nearly 40% of registered voters are unaffiliated, making authenticity and clear values the key to winning. I’ve seen how many feel disenfranchised, stuck between big party establishment politics that ignore our everyday concerns. We want leadership reflecting our values: constitutional respect, limited government, personal liberty, and community responsibility.

Final thoughts:

This is more than a Senate race. It’s about reclaiming the soul of New Hampshire—the “Live Free or Die” spirit. We need a leader unafraid to fight for our rights and stand firm against overreaching government, globalist influence, and radical agendas. For me, the choice is clear: we must back the candidate who lives these values daily, not one tied to Washington’s elite.

The 2026 election is our chance to restore New Hampshire’s legacy as a beacon of freedom, common sense, and integrity.

(This personal perspective is grounded in my leadership with WalkAway and the Independent Women’s Network, movements dedicated to empowering citizens to reclaim their voice and liberty.)

Undecided voters, your voice is the power that shapes our future. This election is not just another political contest—it’s a battle for the soul of New Hampshire and the principles that define our state. Do not sit on the sidelines while Washington elites and radical ideologues decide your fate. Step forward with courage, demand leaders who respect your rights, protect your freedom, and honor your values. Choose authenticity over empty promises, fight against big government overreach, and defend the God-given liberties that make us who we are. The time to act is now—for your family, your community, and the New Hampshire we all cherish. Your vote is your weapon—use it wisely to ensure a future where liberty and common sense prevail. Stand up, be counted, and help elect the leadership we desperately need.
