If you have not noticed, we are now regularly sharing content on Instagram. I also created a Grok TikTok but am waiting for the dust devils surrounding the so-called sale to a majority of US interests before we use it.
If you do not follow us on Facebook or X (please do if you have not), you are missing access to live content, and we are publishing clips from podcasts that will not be published directly on the website.
The ‘Grok has entered the arena of short video – Woo Hoo!
In related news, we have addressed a Google indexing issue, are looking at backend SEO issues, and are investing in getting Grok back on the front page of most search results. Google hates us, and NewsGuard isn’t helping, so that’s a challenge, but we used to rank very well until the censorship industrial complex robbed us of our audience. We are slowly building that back. Page and domain authority are up, as are average daily visits.
We have also been sharing content on Whatfinger.com (which has helped) and recently added The Associated News Service, another opportunity to expand our reach.
I’ve also dropped some advertising that was crowding out the content on mobile after a few complaints. This is costing us some revenue annually, but I have said that the reader experience is more important, so I’m living up to that idea. One that requires more outside support.
We need to raise funds now.
We need to raise some funds.
Inflation has impacted everything in recent years, including operating costs, and the additional growth we need and expect will require additional funding.
The few regular donors we have are not enough. Grok Media LLC needs to raise another $20K by July 4th. That’s the goal. If we don’t, the Grok experience could change a bit by year’s end, and not for the better.
I will keep building the brand and looking for ways to deliver fresh content and generate revenue, but remember that GraniteGrok.com is reader-supported. We are it.
If there are free speech or independent media advocates who can afford to make a large donation to support independent media, we need them. A lot of smaller donations will also get us further down the road. If 1000 people donate 25.00 in the next two months, that would do it for 2025. A 3$ or 5$ a month recurring donation by as many would help fund the rest of 2025. Larger gifts are obviously better because we can’t count on the smaller ones to add up to the goal.
And 2026 is a bridge we’ll cross when we get there, but we’ll cross it because together we make a difference.
Please remember that we are an LLC, so while donors’ privacy is protected, you can’t deduct the donation from your taxes. But all that money goes to operating costs and equipment. There is no board or staff. It’s us against the establishment politicians and their institutions – often covering stories no one else will touch—a place where principles come before party or politicians. Where donors can support us, but they can’t buy us.
You can donate online here, but checks are better (no fees). Make them out to Grok Media LLC and email me at steve@granitegrok.com for the address.
All of the online options support one-time and monthly donations.
By the way, GiveSendGo is the least invasive when it comes to transfer fees. However, note that the progress bar includes donations from previous years that we have already spent.
If you have questions or want to donate another way, email me at steve@granitegrok.com.
Thanks for reading and supporting independent media.
