NH Family Justice Updates: HB553 KILLED! THANK YOU

Thanks to everyone who contacted their representatives this week, this bill that would have greatly expanded definitions of child abuse to include vague and subjective terms that are open to broad interpretation, making normal parenting a legal minefield, was tabled nearly unanimously by the House.

This is a huge victory for the movement for due process and parental rights in New Hampshire. Thank you for your participation in this effort!

More Good News!

HB775 directing the department of health and human services to issue a request for proposals for supervised visitation centers, was also killed during this week’s House session.

Unfortunately, HB587- allowing admission of one-party audio and video recording, did not pass, but the good news is that there is a growing coalition of legislators who would like to fix the issues that caused apprehension in the body, and bring this bill back next year.

🚨 Subcommittee on Family Court 🚨
Room 206-208, Legislative Office Building, 33 N State St., Concord, NH
⚠️Tuesday, April 1st – 10:00AM – Work session.

Watch the video of the first meeting to see the dodge and weave job orchestrated by the subcommittee and judicial branch representatives. The legislature is tasked with being a check and balance on the other branches, but here we see a legislative committee that appears to be working in lock-step with the judiciary to pretend that everything in Family Court is just hunky-dory.

Observe the attorney for the Judicial Branch, Erin Creegan, give Judge Mace the hairy eyeball when he discloses truths intended to be swept under the rug. It appears as though the subcommittee is doing their best to smooth over (or ignore and deflect from) the problems, rights violations, fraud, abuse, and failures of due process reported by countless members of the public before various legislative committee’s since the Family Court’s inception.

They need to know that the jig is up. We know what they’re doing. We are watching, and we demand they not abrogate their duty to properly investigate, interrogate, deliberate, and provide real remedy fulling utilizing all the powers delegated to them by the people. Stop the harm!

The people demand accountability.

Share your thoughts on the first meeting with the members of the subcommittee.

And be sure to watch the next episode of their little show this Tuesday, preferably in person.

To the New Hampshire House of Representatives;

We the People, understand that there are systemic and personnel problems in the State of New Hampshire’s judicial system, particularly the Family Division of the Circuit Court (Family Court), and the Division for Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF),

We the People, understand that the reasons for failures in due process and the ability of the state to protect children are multifaceted and complex,

We the People, understand that it is the House of Representatives that is the grand inquest of the state,

We the People, understand that prior attempts to investigate these matters by the House have not been thorough nor utilized the full authority and tools of the House granted by the People to redress grievances,

Now, therefore, we the undersigned hereby petition the New Hampshire House of Representatives to form a Special Investigative Committee, with full subpoena power, to thoroughly investigate Family Court, DCYF, and all entities related, and to use all the power vested in the House of Representative to redress the grievances resulting therefrom, up to and including legislative solutions to prevent future harm, and impeachment of employees and officers of the state, if necessary.
