Back in the bygone days of early October, the more famous spouse in the Jake Sullivan-Maggie Goodlander pairing was clearly Jake…he is, after all, the National Security Advisor of the United States. But with Election Day fast approaching, there has been a sea-change, and it seems to have come courtesy of a certain president’s (no, not Jake’s) stopover in Concord last Tuesday.

When President Biden told an assembled group in Concord that “we need to lock (Trump) up”, he didn’t say anything he hadn’t said before. This time, however, Maggie Goodlander was in the room when he said it.
As stated earlier, Goodlander is married to Biden’s National Security Advisor. Goodlander, as it so happens, was also one of the lawyers for the House Judiciary Committee when they impeached President Trump in 2019. She also, as it happens, is the Democrat running to represent the Second District in Congress this year. Where was she working before she decided to run for the seat? Oh yes…the Biden White House.
On November 5th, Maggie Goodlander will no doubt receive hundreds of thousands of votes from ardent Democrats and others who have bought her pitch that she is just “a Nashua girl.” But in other corners of the Second District, others who have discovered her resume and background have a somewhat different take.
I’ve included just a sampling of memes Ms. Goodlander has inspired with just over a week to go until Election Day.
