It is primary day in New Hampshire, and voters go to the polls to select candidates for the general election. Turnout is typically thin, sparse, scant, deficient, and lean—it’s pathetic. In my town of roughly 18,000 registered voters, we’ll be lucky to see 4,000 turnouts, so the result could be a slate of candidates with whom many who played no part in its construction are less than excited.
The only contested races on my Republican Primary ballot are for Governor, congressional district one, and Registrar of Deeds.
Primary day also culminates weeks, months, or even years of on-the-ground campaigning. Supporters will be at the polls holding signs and chatting up locals. Candidates will too, gathering later to watch the results, fingers crossed.
There’s a lot going on.
We can’t be everywhere to cover the turnout and results or at the campaign parties, but many of you will be on-site for whatever goes down, and we’d like you to keep us in the loop so we can share that with our readers. Whether you are working the polls, a banquet room, or something in between, please email me with any remarks (steve@granitegrok.com), comments, or updates as they become available. We will share these on the site and social media throughout the day and the evening.
Short video clips are great, too, with attribution or not, at your discretion.
If you have predictions, share them in the comments. We have significant primaries in CD-1 and CD-2, the Governor’s Race, some Executive Council Races, and State Senate Races to report. There are also numerous NH House primaries, a few of which could relieve us of RINO fat, and with your help, we’ll do our best to get the news out as soon as it breaks.
This is, after all, a reader-supported endeavor, and we appreciate your attention and your contributions.
