18 Out of 21 ‘Good Guys’ Won Their Primary, Tuesday

In earlier RINO Reports I targeted five RINOs for defeat in the primaries.

The good news is that two of those five were defeated.

In Grafton 3, Paul Schirduan defeated former Rep Bonnie Ham. He now faces the incumbent Democrat in a swing district. I will be donating to help him win.

In Strafford 3, Susan DeRoy defeated incumbent David Bickford. The district is heavily Republican so she should be able to win.

Those two wins were especially satisfying because the odds were against them. Incumbents have a big advantage in terms of name recognition. This year 90% of incumbents won their primaries. Susan DeRoy worked hard for her win against Bickford. Former Reps also have an advantage, winning 60% of their races. Paul Schirduan did well to defeat Ham.

The bad news is that RINOs Mike Bordes, David Nagle, and Joe Guthrie won their primaries. It is especially disappointing that Bordes and Guthrie came in first in their multi-seat primaries.

There were 21 Good Guys in primaries. Sadly three of them lost.

In Belknap 5, with a 5 for 4 primary, voters chose one of the worst RINOs, Mike Bordes, over one of the best former Reps, Dawn Johnson.

Rockingham 30 had mixed results in a 4 for 2 primary. Good Guy former Rep William Fowler lost, but near RINO incumbent Jason Janvrin also lost. Newcomer Matt Sabourin handily outpolled Janvrin, and came within 5 votes of first place. The other near RINO incumbent Aboul Khan also won.

In Rockingham 32, Good Guy incumbent Scott Wallace lost to former Rep Melissa Litchfield, who has a mediocre record.

While it is sad that any of the Good Guys lost, an 85% win rate is pretty good. And defeating two bad RINOs made for a very good day.
