SIMS: The Great Gender Deception

How Blue-State Radicals Are Handing Women’s Prisons to Violent Male Predators—and Why Women Are Paying the Price

In continuing with highlighting women and women’s issues for the month of March, which is Women’s History month, I have another devastating story this time closer to home, not Iranian women or young, poor, British white girls. This is happening right here at home in New England.

The Great Gender Deception: Blue-State Radicals Are Sacrificing Women’s Safety to Male Predators in Prisons.

Imagine being a vulnerable woman, already stripped of freedom and haunted by trauma, only to wake up in a prison cell next to hulking 6-foot-1, 310-pound male killer Andrew Balcer—who stabbed his mother nine times in the back with a hunting knife, slaughtered his father Antonio as he intervened, and killed the family Chihuahua to silence its barking on Halloween 2016, laughing on his 911 confession. He leers at you while you sleep, shoves you against walls, gropes you in showers, yanks you from your bed for forced kisses, grinds his male anatomy against you, and whispers threats of impregnation or smothering.

Inmate Katie Mountain wrote to The Maine Wire: “My roommate Andrew (A MAN!), who believes he is Andrea Balcer [Andrew Balcer], is still at the women’s center living his best life. He assaults women like me, and they look the other way, as I have now found I am at least the 6th girl he has done this to. I have all 6 other women’s names. The prison is doing nothing to stop him.” To Sun Journal, she added: “He’s shoved me against the bathroom wall and tried to force me to kiss him… I would wake up to him just staring at me and then making comments like: ‘If you don’t wake up, it’s because I smothered you with a pillow.’”

Guards shrugged: “I don’t make the laws in Maine,” then punished her—segregation, lost privileges, delayed release—while he roamed free. At least six others (up to 11) echo her hell: Jennifer Albert says he “pulled my body right up against [his], like as tight as [he] possibly could… so I could feel that it was a man”; Megan Reeves calls him “very big… vulgar and perverted,” with repeated impregnation propositions; others report being cornered in bathrooms, groped, forcibly kissed, or asked to touch his breasts—complaints ignored or triggering retaliation. This is no anomaly; it’s systemic predation enabled by denial of biology.

How did this nightmare unfold? Blame Maine’s Democratic-controlled legislature and their 2021 passage of LD 772, mandating prisons house inmates by self-declared “gender identity” unless posing “significant safety risks”—handing violent males like Balcer a free pass despite his brutality. Under Maine Department of Corrections’ Policy 23.8 (updated 2023), housing is “case-by-case” but defaults to identity preference, enabling his 2022 transfer from men’s prison—MDOC’s only “actions” are brief PREA segregations before returning him, punishing victims instead. Democratic Gov. Janet Mills signed this insanity, defying federal warnings; even after Trump yanked $1.5M funding in 2025 over PREA failures, Maine doubled down, ideology over women’s lives.

State Rep. Laurel Libby (R) has been a fierce warrior against this outrage. On International Women’s Day 2026, she blasted on X: “A man claiming to be a woman is… in a women’s prison, where multiple women have filed complaints of sexual harassment and assault, with NO justice. This radical agenda MUST stop.” She tried reading Mountain’s letter into the House record on March 5 (blocked by Speaker Ryan Fecteau); at the March 12 presser, she demanded that biological males be separated, citing trauma survivors. She backed AG Pam Bondi’s 2025 cuts, arguing reform or consequences—biology first.

But Maine’s betrayal is just one chapter in New England’s blue-state horror story. Hop over to Massachusetts, where the 2018 Criminal Justice Reform Act—rammed through by Democrats—allows biological males to self-identify as women and demand transfers with or without a gender dysphoria diagnosis. At MCI-Framingham, the state’s only women’s prison, this has created a “haven for sexual predators pretending to be transgender,” as exposed by journalist Forest Romm.

Males like Charles “Charlese” Horton, convicted of kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old boy at gunpoint, self-ID, transfer in, drop hormones but keep their male bodies, then unleash hell: harassment, intimidation, assaults. One woman reported rape in November 2025, only to face retaliation with restrictive housing. Officials minimize complaints, discredit victims, and grant these men exclusive showers—locking women down like animals. Gov. Maura Healey’s “progressive” regime oversees this mess, bolstering gender-affirming care via her 2025 “Shield Act 2.0” while ignoring the screams from Framingham.

Now, contrast this with my home state of New Hampshire, where sanity still holds a fragile line. Under Policy and Procedure Directive 6.85 (last updated 2015), transgender housing is strictly case-by-case, factoring in health, safety, and security risks—not automatic self-ID. No dedicated LGBTQ+ units based solely on identity, and reassessments twice yearly to catch threats. We’ve dodged the Maine-Massachusetts nightmares so far, with no reports of assaults or impregnations in women’s prisons.

But even here, a 2025 lawsuit by a transgender male demands women’s facility access, and 2026 bills like HB 1442, HB 1299, and SB 268 are advancing to explicitly mandate biological-sex segregation in prisons, sports, and restrooms—passing the House amid veto threats from Gov. Kelly Ayotte (R). NH’s Republican tilt keeps us safer, but without these reforms, the blue-state cancer could spread.

Let’s call out the big lie fueling this depravity: Men are not women. No amount of self-declaration, hormones, or surgeries changes biological reality. Yet blue states swallow this BS whole, sacrificing women to misogynistic, depraved males who game the system. The results? Epidemic horrors. In New Jersey, transgender male Demi Minor impregnated two female inmates in 2022. In California, Tremaine Carroll raped a woman in 2024 after transfer—facing charges while impregnating others. Illinois saw Janiah Monroe accused of raping a cellmate in 2019. Washington’s prisons erupted with assault reports from females against transferred males in 2025. Nationwide, the Independent Women’s Forum’s 2025 report warns that nearly half of trans-identifying male prisoners are sex offenders, yet states shove them into women’s cells, spiking rapes, assaults, and trauma. This isn’t inclusion—it’s state-sanctioned predation.

Women’s organizations are fighting this insidious, blatant misogyny tooth and nail. As Southern NH Chapter Leader for Independent Women’s Network (IWN, an IWF affiliate), we’re amplifying inmate voices, pushing for biological-sex protections, and exposing these horrors through reports like IWF’s “Cruel and Unusual Punishment” (2025), which demands PREA reforms to end mixed-sex housing. WDI USA’s Prison FOIA Project (2023) uncovers male transfers nationwide, their Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights calling for single-sex prisons to end state-sanctioned violence against females. New England Women’s Solidarity, founded in 2023 by feminists alarmed at eroding rights, testified against Maine’s LD 260 in 2025, providing examples of conflicts like males in women’s prisons leading to assaults, demanding protections for biological women over self-ID claims. Together, we’re battling the erasure of women’s spaces, one policy at a time.

Blue cities and states, led by radical governors like Mills and Healey, deny biology to appease gender ideologues—dumping the costs on women. They gaslight us with “compassion” talk while enabling rapists. Enough. For Katie, for every terrorized inmate—fight back. Women’s reality isn’t negotiable.

Call to Action: Join the fight today. Contact your legislators in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire—demand immediate biological-sex housing reforms. Support organizations like Independent Women’s Network, WDI USA, and New England Women’s Solidarity: Donate, volunteer, share their reports and testimonies. Amplify inmate stories on social media, attend hearings, and vote out radicals sacrificing women. As women and allies, rise up—protect our sisters behind bars. Your voice can end this nightmare.
