Last year ‘Constitutional Carry‘ was signed into law in Maine. Maine is one of the safest states in the country and has been for years.
This drives the gun control extremists absolute insane. They can’t stand that the safest states in the country are those with the least strict gun control laws.
So what do they do in response? Spend millions of dollars of out-of-state money to push more gun control.

Yesterday, March 24, the Maine Senate joined with the House of Representatives to indefinitely postpone the Bloomberg gun control ballot initiative, which has been introduced as LD 1662. This procedural vote by both Chambers to reject the legislation will allow the measure to go on the ballot for the November General Election.
Despite the rhetoric, this radically misguided ballot initiative will not reduce crime. As seen in Oregon and Washington, this initiative is another attempt by former New York City Mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg to push his big city style gun-control on law-abiding gun owners in Maine. Currently, it is illegal to knowingly sell a firearm to someone who is a prohibited person. Likewise, it is a felony for a prohibited person to buy, own or possess a firearm. However, this initiative seeks to make drastic and unnecessary changes to current laws that will place excessive restrictions on law-abiding citizens rather than addressing the true problems associated with straw purchases and the lack of enforcement of current laws.
This initiative would do nothing to prevent criminals from breaking the law and getting their hands on firearms. Criminals will continue to use the black market, straw purchasers and theft in order to obtain firearms. This initiative would only turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals. Simply loaning a firearm to a friend could turn a law-abiding gun owner into a criminal overnight.

Moms Demand Action, the New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun astroturf organization, is pushing a referendum to outlaw private transfers of firearms. They’re shipping out-of-state money and people into Maine to put their measure on our ballot, and buy themselves a law on our books.
This confusingly-written and ambiguous law would criminalize ordinary and traditional behavior, like selling a gun to a friend, or loaning a gun to a neighbor to go hunting. In order to comply with the law, you and your friend or neighbor would have to go to a licensed dealer, fill out Federal paperwork, undergo an FBI background check, and pay a fee before you could turn over your firearm. But, wait! That’s not all. You’ll have to do it all over again before your gun can be returned to you. And if the FBI background check makes a mistake and denies or delays you, as it does over 60,000 times a year to law-abiding citizens, you may not get your gun back.
“Hang on”, you say, “I heard the law has exceptions for hunting and for family members. This won’t affect me.”
Those exceptions aren’t what they appear to be; you won’t be able to loan a gun to a friend or neighbor to go hunting. The loan can only occur while you are hunting, in the field. Anything else is a crime.
These aren’t people from Maine pushing this draconian initiative. These are out-of-state paid hacks that are pushing gun control because Michael Bloomberg, who has armed security for HIS family, is a billionaire hoplophobe. His harpies are paid hacktivists who don’t know the first thing about ‘grassroots,’ firearms or the 2nd Amendment.
Despite the fact that Maine is one of the safest states and despite the fact that ‘Constitutional Carry’ is law, these out-of-state gun control extremists have decided to continue to infringe upon the rights of the people.
Ballot initiatives are dangerous because these groups will 100% LIE to voters about what the law will actually do.
What the law will not do is stop criminals from getting firearms.
What the law WILL do is turn law-abiding citizens into criminals.
Bloomberg and his paid harpies are doing nothing but victimizing Maine citizens. Recently these same Maine Moms Demand hens were in New Hampshire during a senate hearing on Constitutional Carry. There are literally only a few paid hacktivists in the Granite State so they decided to bring some from Maine over to make it seem as though their numbers were higher. They failed.
The citizens of Maine need to rebuke these out-of-state extremists and vote AGAINST the ballot initiative in November.
Send these New York hoplophobes back where they belong and demand they stop victimizing other states.
