MACDONALD: We Don’t Want to Shoot You

Jeff Chidester and I had the privilege of speaking to the Strathmore Town Republican Committee last week, and it sounds like everyone had a great time. Afterward, everyone mingles, shares thoughts and opinions, and asks and answers more questions.

Topics included firearms, 2A, self-defense, what to do about mobs (France is on everyone’s mind), and more. One attendee shared a story about someone who was confronted by a bunch of Antifa, the biggest of whom he knocked out with one punch. The rest scattered after that, and it’s a good story, but you can’t count on cowards in every situation.

A more agitated group or mob might be more committed, so it needs to be clear that some of them will end up dead as a deterrent. Maybe none of them want to be the martyrs.

In other words, we don’t want to shoot you, but if we have to, to protect ourselves, family, friends, property, and lives, we could.

The left, on the other hand, has gotten very comfortable not just celebrating murder but talking about how much more of it we need. This is typical leftism. It always goes here, and not enough people in the political middle understand or accept that.

Win or lose, you and I are a problem they are willing to solve with murder.

I’ve said more than once that this was inevitable, but here’s the thing you need to remember. They only really do this stuff in places where they have political cover. Portland, Seattle, Chicago, blue cities, blue states. Antifa was free to terrorize you, knowing that if they got arrested, some liberal foundation would pay their bail, and the system that shared their priorities would let them loose and never pursue them.

The street criminals who have rap sheets longer than the so-called Epstein list walk free to rob, rape, and kill, and we’d just get more of that, preferably with you and me disarmed.

During the BLM celebrations for career criminal George Floyd, blue cities and states had riots and chaos, but red states and pro-2A places, not so much. The potential to be shot at, or to shoot back, has a powerful influence on the behavior of people insisting they are the resistance.

But they believe they can solve it just like France did. No 2A, no right to personal firearms; heck – the rules for a hunting rifle make it a useless tool for hunting, forget defending yourself against a mob or arson-minded Muslims.

The Dems, and even more so their new DSA masters, will not allow you to defend yourself. So, while we don’t want to shoot you, and you do want to shoot us, your political guardian demons want to ensure that criminals can do us harm without fear of consequence.

A dad in Bend, Oregon, saved countless lives because he was armed and got there before the police. In the Left’s world, that can’t happen. The police they claim to hate might be a while, or a long while, away if it’s a school, a church, or a home invasion, and a lesson needs to be learned.

No one on the constitutional right feels like that about anyone, regardless of their political leanings, and if they do, we don’t want you in our movement. You belong with the lefties.

No one on the right should want to shoot anyone, but everyone on the right should be armed and prepared to defend their lives and liberty.

The left is very much energized by the prospect of killing you, and all they need is political cover, which you have the power to deny them, but you have to vote to ensure lawlessness is not tolerated and prosecuted to the full extent of the actual law.

No one at that event wants to shoot anyone, but they all seem to understand the stakes. Let’s hope enough of the rest of us do, too.
