Pretending to care about people’s property is so cute, but that’s what Minnesota, of all places, just did. It pretended to care.
Democratic Gov. Tim Walz signed legislation May 4 banning the installation of crypto ATMs, also known as kiosks, which are commonly found at gas stations and convenience stores. Existing machines must be removed from the state by Dec. 31.
The ATMs were being used by criminals to disproportionately target seniors, according to state officials.
The land of 10,000 lakes is also the land of innumerable acts of fraud across a spectrum of state and federal “aid” programs, totaling an estimated $ 9 billion. The concern there appears to be who in state government can avoid responsibility for the disproportion of criminality that costs taxpayers of all ages such an obscene sum.
Democrats applaud their efforts to undermine crypto scams that also advance the parallel goal of getting an unregulated “currency” under its thumb while hiding and then hiding from fraud for which they are culpable.
Officials also said many of the thefts go unreported because the victims are embarrassed at having been tricked.
Last year alone, there were 70 cases of people falling victim to these kinds of fraud schemes, investigators said. More than $540,000 was lost and the average loss per transaction was nearly $6,800, according to state officials.
Is that what it was. Tim Walz and his pack of idiots were just too embarrassed to ask the Feds for help with their grotesque mismanagement of Americans’ tax dollars?
Not at all.
If you’d like to investigate an “affordability” problem in America, it is the Democrats ‘ systemic inability to be respectful and responsible stewards of other people’s money.
That sounds like an amazing way to go after an entire political party in the run-up to the next election. Every time they talk about affordability, dredge up any of the dozens of recent examples of how incompetent, or is it just indifferent, they are to where the money they spend comes from.
