BRADLEY: Hope and Prayers for Women

Watching coverage of rioting occurring in several U.S. cities, I have been disheartened by the sheer number of women, both young and old, engaging in extremely vulgar and violent assaults on officers appointed to protect our country and keep the peace!  I completely support peaceful protest, but what I’ve seen daily is far from peaceful.   I’ve been wondering “WHY” so many women are behaving in such an outrageous and, in some cases, criminal manner.

As a young woman during the late 60’s and 70’s, I remember the radical feminists Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, and Angela Davis.  These social/political feminist activists convinced many young women that they were victims of inequality because they lived in a male-dominated society.  For women to become successful, they needed to be totally self-absorbed, absolutely career-oriented, politically strident, and avoid motherhood.  Their radical ideology continues to infiltrate our colleges and universities today.

Today, we are seeing so many women full of uncontrolled anger at those in authority.  Why is that happening?  Why is there so much hatred?  Is there something missing in their lives that makes them react this way?  I believe they have a distorted sense of purpose that looks at everyone as a victim of some injustice, no matter how radical it may be.  Their mission is to save even if it creates chaos and violence. It is heartbreaking to see women spitting, cursing, screaming, and throwing dangerous objects at law enforcement or anyone they disagree with, and acting as if this is acceptable behavior.

Women have been the loving and nurturing force in our families, communities, and relationships.  I pray that those women who have chosen hate and violence can return to a semblance of sanity and realize that what they are doing is not only helping to destroy our country but them as well.
