MACDONALD: How about Blowing Up The Filibuster Just a Little Bit?

The Whatfinger Compromise would blow up the filibuster just long enough for Republicans to secure federal elections.

I’ve suggested we nuke the filibuster and ram through whatever we can to make America Great again. But it did come with a caveat. Even though the Dems would ignore law hijack rules, and do whatever it takes to get their way, if Republicans dropped the procedure and ran the table, the left would cry Kins and tyrants.

No one should care what Dems think, but they can move voters, so that’s a risk. But what if the Republicans dropped the filibuster, opened the government, and then used that opportunity for a laser-guided bomb of a strike on a root cause or problem with long-lasting positive benefits to Americans, liberty, and our posterity? I give you the Whatfinger Compromise: A Strategic Path to Secure Elections, Crush Voter Fraud, and Preserve American Liberty,

…a bold, foolproof strategy to save America from the clutches of the Deep State lowlifes and ensure they never regain control. This isn’t just a good idea; it’s the absolute best move we can make right now, stripping away every possible counterargument while delivering a knockout blow to corruption. Here’s how it works: President Trump should champion a temporary suspension of the filibuster, but with ironclad restrictions—lifting it solely to pass comprehensive election reform legislation, as outlined by Gunther Eagleman in his powerful X post below.

That means enacting straightforward, commonsense measures like requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration, mandatory voter ID at the polls, same-day voting to eliminate extended windows for manipulation, and a return to secure paper ballots counted transparently on election night. By limiting the filibuster’s waiver to this single, critical purpose, we empower the Republican majorities in both chambers to act decisively without needing 60 votes in the Senate. Once these reforms are enshrined in law, we immediately reinstate the filibuster in full, restoring its protective role.

Federal Elections are one area where we find ourselves battling distrust, disinterest, and a host of opportunities for fraud. And while Republicans did a great job with early voting in 2024, they completely dropped the ball this year – a problem with many a reason, not the least of which was malaise, distrust, and disinterest.

Whatfinger Compromise

States run elections, but the Federal government has a say in Federal elections. Congress decides how they are to be conducted, and these four simple changes to Federal election law, all of which could survive a waterfall of lawsuits and challenges, would address a serious problem that keeps many real Americans home on election day.

It won’t stop fraud, but it will make it more difficult, and we might want to take it a little further to improve the odds of cleaner elections. Federal rules for election monitors that prevent them from being removed or boxed out under any circumstance, as Republicans were in 2020. [Related: JANZ: I reluctantly agree that the filibuster should be ‘nuked’]

The paper ballot provision would have to include hand-counting observed by both sides, no machines counting paper ballots—which I get is assumed—but you have to say it out loud. And while I can think of at least 100 other things I’d want done absent the filibuster, the point is well met. Limiting actions/reforms to a handful of meaningful changes that almost everyone but elected Democrats would embrace reduces or eliminates the opportunity to scream about killing the filibuster for the better part of a year to ram a partisan agenda through, even if it is what a majority of Americans voted for.

We didn’t do it, so you shouldn’t either (not that Dems would listen, but the optics are a lot better).

Mal from Whatfinger finishes with this.

Your mission: Spread the word about The Whatfinger Compromise far and wide. Tell everyone, from your neighbors to your social media circles. Urge President Trump to propose it immediately, and declare that anyone who opposes it is a traitor to the Republic. If Johnson, Thune, or any other RINO dares to fight back, they’ve revealed themselves for what they are. The time is now—act before the window closes. Does anyone doubt this will work 100%? SPREAD THE WORD!

Even if you are not on baord 100% if you have to start with something, securing our federal elections would be it, and, yes, some states would likely downstream it into their state and local elections.

Tell us what you think in the comments.
