Back in August, Kamala Harris had suggested that she wasn’t going to run for President again in 2028. She told Stephen Colbert as much on not-quite-live television. Harris said the system was broken and she didn’t want to get back into it, which I took to mean that it wasn’t her fault she lost – the theme of her book and her tour.
It wasn’t me.
She and Joe Biden share that trait with most Democrats. They say the buck stops with them, but what they really mean is your money, not responsibility. But they keep saying it while blaming everyone and everything for their failures, both as individuals and as political figures.
If you wanted a quick way to reduce the number of Machiavellian Psychopathic narcissists in your life, not voting for Democrats would do the trick. Harris is a diversity hire, and she’s so incompetent that Democrats would like her to shut up and go away.
Sadly, she seems unwilling, despite getting harassed on her book tour, at which she continues to say stupid things that aggravate members of her own party. And now she’s saying maybe to a run in 2028.
Maybe, maybe not, which marks a significant shift away from a broken system she’ll no longer be part of.
Kamala is full of shit all around. The keys to her decision are money and backing. If there are enough donors and high-profile names to get her the nomination, she’ll pull the trigger. She can’t not do that, and I hope she does. She would have to have been pre-annointed by the party and process, because the field of candidates in the primary will be dense, all of them more capable on policy. She will be the least able speaker, and forced to debate them in a dog and pony show that would ultimately amount to nothing. Dem voters will pick someone else, but somehow she’d end up the nominee.
Who is going to try to buy the other candidates out of the race with the promise of some position in the “never gonna happen” Harris administration? What leverage will the DNC have to bring to bear to pry contestants from the game show stage? And who honestly would even want to be on that shipwreck if it could set sail?
Harris is notoriously hard to work for, a real battle-axe of a boss, who takes credit not her due while passing blame she deserves onto others. She is reportedly disorganized, chaotic, and mean. And we’ve seen her on the campaign trail. Preparation cannot overcome the train wreck.
So yes, please run. Bring your chaos to the primary process, and let’s see if you can actually get the base to vote for you in any number that keeps you in the race longer than the first few states.
I want to think Democrat voters are not stupid enough to give you another chance, but then I remember who most of them are. The TDS base. The mask-wearing, jab-collecting, kid-grooming, baby-killing roots watered by the fearmongers and the mainstream media.
Kamala may be what they want, and if that’s true, you’ll get the nominee you deserve.
