Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck at an event in Utah.

“We heard a big loud shot, I saw a bunch of blood come out of Charlie, I saw his body kind of kick back and go limp, and everybody dropped to the ground,” Hickens said.
After a few moments, people started running out of the outdoor pavilion area, knocking over barricades. Hickens said he slowed down once he realized there were no more shots being fired and he felt safe.
“I kind of turned around and all of a sudden I saw officers walking with this very elderly gentleman with white hair,” Hickens said. “They had him arrested, they had him on his knees and he was screaming about his rights and all that stuff. They cuffed him and put him away.”
There was no metal detectors to get into the event, Hickens said, though there was security by Kirk himself.
The video is graphic, and the immediate blood loss is excessive. He was shot in the neck. I’m not sure how he survives that. I don’t think he could.

Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA’s leader, was shot during a Utah Valley University event. Initial reports of a suspect in custody were corrected, authorities say the detained person was not the shooter. Kirk was struck, but his injury details remain unclear. The actual suspect’s identity and charges are still unknown.
MSNBC is making some news by speculating that the ‘Charlie Kirk shooting could have “been a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration.”
Then we have Matthew Dowd suggesting that it’s Kirks fault he got shot.

Update to Update 4: No, actually, they don’t.
The FBI on Thursday released photos of a person of interest in the assassination of Charlie Kirk at a Utah college, in the midst of a massive manhunt.
“We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University,” the FBI’s Salt Lake City office wrote in a post on X.
It also directed people to a webpage where they could submit tips about the individual seen in the photos.
“Starting at 11:52 a.m. the subject arrived on campus, shortly away from campus. We’ve tracked his movements onto the campus, through the stairwells, up to the roof, across the roof to the shooting location,” he said.
“After the shooting, we were able to track his movements as he moved to the others die of the building, jumped off the building, and fled off of the campus and into a neighborhood,” he said
