Meetings in the Trump White House are likely remarkably different from those of Democrats. While the left schemes to secure more power and protect itself from those who might object, Team Trump is making lists of things that will trigger lefties.
I don’t know, that’s how I picture it, and how hard can it be? Anything that benefits America or its citizens sets them off. Maybe the challenge is finding new and different ways to do it. Take the latest news from the US Department of State.
On August 5, 2025 the Department of State (DOS) published in the Federal Register a temporary final rule that establishes a one-year pilot program to test a $5K, $10K, or $15K bond system for select B‑1/B‑2 visitor visa applicants from countries with high overstay rates or other conditions.
It can be costly to track down visa holders who overstay their legal welcome. Secretary Rubio has announced that moving forward, visitors from nations who tend to do that most often will be required to pay a bond up front before they are allowed into the United States.
Tourists from those countries would have to pay an amount ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 at the time of their visa interview to enter the US. Then, if the tourist departs on or before their visa’s expiration, that amount would be refunded to them.
The money would also be returned if the visa were cancelled, if the travel does not occur, or if the tourist is denied entry into the US.
Should a tourist overstay their visa — or apply for asylum or another immigration-related programme while in the US — the federal government would keep the money.
A security deposit. And a disincentive.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an advocacy group, was among those that denounced the new bond scheme as discriminatory. It described the system as a form of exploitation — a “legalised shakedown” — in a statement on Tuesday.
“This is not about national security,” said Robert McCaw, CAIR’s government affairs director. “It’s about weaponising immigration policy to extort vulnerable visitors, punish disfavored countries, and turn America’s welcome mat into a paywall.”
Americans have a right to travel within the United States, but there is no right to travel to America. No one is entitled to come here and thinking it true has resulted in a broad spectrum of serious issues that impact nearly every level of our civil society. We’ve got overpriced, overcrowded schools where American kids can’t learn. There is rising vagrancy, property crime, homelessness, drug abuse, assault, rape, murder, and the stress of resources required to attempt to deal with all of that.
The illegal entrants are responsible for most of that, as are the politicians and bureaucrats who facilitate it, but visa jumpers are still a factor. And if you think that’s unfair, maybe overstay your visa in an Islamic country. Let me know what happens before you criticize efforts to deal with the multi-culti, open borders, alien invasion mess left to Mr. Trump by whoever was running the Biden Administration—one of the things for which Donald Trump was elected.
As in, please fix this.
I think this is a great idea. It will make lying about why you are coming here “to visit” too expensive for the very people most likely to break laws and do damage. It also makes the displacement conveyor more costly for third parties who have been funding the invasion of America for years.
And then consider the ramifications of traveling without a visa or overstaying your welcome in other countries that require them.
What Happens If U.S. Citizens Travel Without the Necessary Visa?
Traveling without the necessary visa can lead to significant consequences for U.S. citizens. These consequences can include denial of entry, detention, and potential bans from future travel to the country.
The main points related to traveling without a visa are as follows:
1. Denial of Entry
2. Detention or Deportation
3. Legal Penalties
4. Travel Bans
5. Increased Scrutiny on Future Travels
We have no more right to go there than they do here, and in all cases, there are consequences. America should be no different.
