The College of Cardinals had not checked their email yet, as their isolation ended after electing a successor to fill the spot vacated by the death of Pope Francis, and Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi was urging the new Pope, Leo XIV, to intervene with Donald Trump and try to negotiate relief for anyone labeled an illegal alien. It is incredible and rich that Pelosi is using her status as a Roman Catholic to reach out to the new American-born Pope for support for the Democrat position on the deportation of illegals. Pelosi may be from Baltimore, but that was the last place she saw a Catechism.
Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden are two of the most well-known Catholics in America. But unfortunately, both are talked about because of their political beliefs, which are in stark contrast to Catholic doctrine. The Catholic Church has been criticized for allowing Pelosi and Biden to still receive the Sacrament of Communion based on their beliefs, which place them in sin in the eyes and conscience of the Church. You cannot pick and choose the laws of the Church that align with your personal beliefs.
Pope Leo XIV has not made a policy statement on the mass deportation of illegal criminals yet, but Pope Francis did have a heated argument on the subject with JD Vance on Easter Sunday. Pelosi is hoping Leo will be consistent with Francis. The Vatican or the Church has no official position on deportation. However, they do have unyielding positions on many other issues that put Pelosi and Biden at odds with the Church and leave the two politicians out of Grace. The Catholic Church would serve itself well to make an example of these two sinners.
The team of Pelosi and Biden is consistently in violation of the Church on Abortion, LGBTQ+/Same Sex Marriages, Physical mutilation of children, and supporting the chemical and surgical gender transition. These subjects are where the hypocrisy is in the spotlight. There is no doubt, and no attempt has been made to hide their overt support for these issues. It is wrong when adults make personal decisions. They do not need the support of two old politicians.
The real issue is when it comes to children. The Left, including these two leaders, not only supports abortions, hormone treatment, and physical modifications, but they also encourage cities, towns, and states to create sanctuary regions where minors can go to receive treatment without parental consent. Schools are shielding children’s activity from their parents. Planned Parenthood was discovered offering hormone treatments to girls as young as 16 with no parental consent.
The Democrats, under the leadership of Joe Biden, lost as many as 300,000 immigrant children who were placed in government care and fell through the cracks. If there is one thing that religion teaches and that the Left is ignoring, it is protecting the children, protecting the innocent. It would be helpful if the Left had mentors to help them mend their errors, but the mentors, the elders, are just as lost.
