Last week, the Senate could not get enough Democrat senators, including our two, to vote to keep biological males from competing in female sports and entering female locker rooms because they consider themselves transgender.
America is a free country where citizens can intellectualize what they believe. So, if people feel they were born in the wrong sex, they are free to think that. But they do not have the right to force certain pronouns on the citizens of our country, nor do they have a right to participate in female sports if they are biological males. Sports participation is not a Constitutional right of anyone. It is a position earned by intensive training and competition.
Where are the voices of the National Organization for Women (N.O.W.) and the Me-Too movement speaking out to protect girls and women in sports? These groups are supposed to be advocates for the protection of females in our society. But I do not hear them speaking out on this issue. I guess, if we are going to be advocates for the protection of girls and women, it has to be the parents, grandparents and citizens who think females ought to compete fairly and enjoy equal opportunity in the field of play and protection in the locker rooms.
What was it about the Protection of Girls and Women’s Sports Act that our entire Congressional delegation voted no to protect females? A recent survey reveals that over 80% of Americans oppose biological men from engaging in female sports. Our whole Congressional delegation did not vote for the will of NH residents. They succumbed to the influence of about .45% of our citizens who claim to be transgender. That is less than 1% of our citizens.
What is the Protection of Women and Girls in Sport Act? It is a piece of legislation that would codify the Executive Order (EO) that President Trump authorized to overturn the (EO) of Biden that Biden expanded Title IX to include transgender individuals to be included in the word “sex” in Title IX. If you do not legislate a Bill to codify an EO, another President can come into office and reverse the last EO that Trump authorized. Our entire Congressional delegation, of which 3 are women, voted not to protect our girls and women in sports.
Title IX was passed in 1972. This law protected girls and women from discrimination in sports. In 1972, the word transgender was not even a part of our vocabulary. The word sex was intended to mean biological women. For Biden to interrupt the word “sex” to include transgender folks is preposterous. For 245 years before Biden issuing his EO, the word “sex” has referred to people who were biological in their sexual makeup.
Now, let us look at what our legislators voted to oppose in this Act. Our Congressional delegation said it is OK for biological men with testosterone hormones flowing through their bodies and their muscle structure to compete with girls and women in sports. This is not equal opportunity for our females as the hormones and the muscle makeup of biological men are stronger than that of girls and women.
Now our same legislators voted to allow biological men, who have male genitalia, to enter a female locker room and change and shower next to our daughters and granddaughters. There is nothing good that can come from males being in a female locker room. Do I need to say more? Not only is this insane, but it is also inviting sexual abuse among our female athletes.
For this reason alone, we need to vote these Democrats out of office and vote in legislators who will protect girls and women in the sports arena. We also need to see that our School Boards adhere to the Trump EO and keep biological males out of our female sports before the federal government withdraws funding from our schools.
