Media Blitz Not Working For Democrats

With less than four weeks, 28 days, until the Presidential election, many Americans still do not know Kamala Harris or her policies. The woman the Democrats allowed to steal the top of the ticket from President Joe Biden is still an enigma, and with her constant flip-flops on major voter concerns, it is easy to see why. The day after she became the nominee, 28% of voters did not know who she was. After nearly four years as Vice President, she was an unknown commodity in her own Party. To change these dynamics, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz embarked on a media blitz this week, and after just a couple of days, the Dems know that this decision was a very bad one.

Harris tried to book friendly forums for these interviews, but the first one out of the gate threw up red flags. Harris went to Sixty Minutes, which has historically been kind to Democrats, and given them a soft interview. From the introduction, you knew this night would be different. Bill Whitaker did a surprisingly good job with both interviews and started by saying the honeymoon was over. This intro should have sent Harris and Walz running for the exits. Whitaker posed good questions, but unlike other media journalists, he pressed both to answer the question when they chose to go in a different direction. His follow-up questions were like a left hook after a right jab. Harris significantly fell short of answering questions on key issues, and anyone watching will still be unaware of where she stands.

She was queried on the border and asked if she regretted the decision to relax the security of the border. It was pointed out that the Biden/Harris policies had quadrupled crossings over the Trump Presidency. She avoided the question even when pressed three times for an answer. She continues to confuse illegal border crossings with a broken immigration system. She blames Congress, and specifically the Republicans, for not passing the reform bill that allowed millions of crossings per year. Harris wants to take credit for tightening security in the last six months but cannot answer why it was not done sooner. Did she not expect a question on the border? One month until the election, she does not have a solid answer.

The same is true on the economy. Harris was asked to explain how she would pay for her promises like expanded child credits, new homeowner incentives, and small business tax deductions, and she fell back on the failed Biden dream of making the wealthy pay their fair share. Maybe we can start with having Hunter Biden and Al Sharpton pay their taxes.

Finally, she was asked how we can pledge money for Lebanon or the continued attempt to give Student Loan forgiveness when people have lost everything in Hurricane Helene, and we tell them that FEMA is broke. She has no answer, but we already knew that. That is why she has avoided real interviews. She made a mistake going on 60 Minutes, and this was the edited interview….we can only imagine the ridiculous answers that hit the editors floor.
