If your first decision as an adult is to chemically or surgically neuter yourself because you think you’re in the wrong body, I think that’s crazy, but you be you. The gene pool will likely sigh with relief while Darwin’s ghost smiles at a mentally unstable human being self-selecting not to procreate.
Adults. You want it, you pay for it; knock yourselves out.
But that’s not what the debate is about. This is about children. This is about adults surrounding kids with the idea that they might be in the wrong body, which is bad enough, but the cure they offer is a lie. They promise that if you let them give you drugs that slow or alter your natural development, which will probably neuter you chemically-drugs that are dangerous and that you will have to take forever-so that you can realize the “gender” you were meant to be.
Put another way, adults are chemically and surgically neutering children based on a sexuality they have no connection to in any real sense, on the basis of a fantasy that can never be real, before they can ever truly realize actual sexuality, such that they never actually will.
Not all, but many to most of these kids will never, as adults, know human sexual intimacy, though they may know the frustration of having it within their grasp but without a way to grasp it.
Imagine someone winding you up over and over, with no way to release it.
You were told you might become suicidal, and after the treatments, suddenly you are.
It explains the anger and the shooting without the issue of someone in this position skipping all the mental health drugs they need, on top of the hormones or blockers.
You might well have told them they were a bird, grafted wings on them, and then poo-pooed society when they discovered they could never fly.
Adults, if you want that, it’s a bad idea, but it’s your bad idea. Children don’t have these ideas on their own; adults put them in their heads and then feed them.
It’s manipulation, to be sure, political manipulation – definitely, but what it truly is … is evil.
