ICYMI – Gun Grabbers Convince Credit Card Companies To Help Them Harass Law Abiding Gun Owners

What was it I said earlier this year? Tyranny never rests, so – like them – neither shall we. And so it goes. The gun grabbers asked the Credit Card company folks to create merchant codes specific to firearms and ammunition. You know so that they can track them.

And while I get that there are criminals who engage in credit card fraud – firearms for illegal use are not purchased with a VISA. They are acquired illegally via theft, cash sales, and no receipts or records.

New York Attorney General Letitia James and California Attorney General Rob Bonta sent a letter to chief executives at American Express, Mastercard and Visa, urging them to support a merchant category code.

Will they be like SKUs and PLUs on fruit? Those little stickers that tell the grocer (cashier/scanner) if it is a banana, or an organic banana, or whatever sort of apple is in the bag. No. You won’t have to peel little stickers off your ammo or deal with the adhesive residue. Items identified as firearms or ammunition will get a special code in the credit card registry of everything ever bought or sold on a charge card, so doofus losers like NY Governor Kathy Hochul can say this supports the fight against crime.

“Together we can help stop gun trafficking & keep New Yorkers safe,” she posted.

No. This is not about that, and you know it. Gun traffickers are not using the American Express Card that they did not leave home without to transact business. This has only one purpose and one purpose only.

To serve as a registry for everyone who legally purchased guns or ammunition so you can either leak the list (oops!) or, when you get ballsy enough, send someone else’s loved ones to go door to door to collect them.

It will not prevent gun crime or violent crime. But it might be useful to implicate people in purchasing weapons they never truly owned. In case you need that look.

Then there is all this talk of the cashless society—Commerce communism. But I guess you’ll need all the guns before you can get to that part of your plan.
