Feds To Rename 660 “Offensive” US Landmarks

When I first read the headline, I thought, great, everything named after Woodrow Wilson or Robert Byrd is getting a makeover. Wilson, a Democrat, reversed years of progress on race relations almost overnight, and Bryd was a Democrat and notorious Klansman. Nope, that wasn’t it.

They are still revered by the Left (Joe Biden Loved Robert Byrd) for their contributions to progressivism. That’s a fancy term for using the word forward to take us backward. But not today. The history they feel compelled to erase has a different name.

Led by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, the first Native American to serve as cabinet secretary, the February 2022 release of the list marks the next step in a sweeping plan to remove the racist and misogynist slur “squaw” from the national geographic landscape. Hundreds of U.S. geographic sites, including mountains, rivers, lakes, remote islands and more, currently are named using the word, report Neil Vigdor and Christine Hauser for the New York Times.

Merriam-Webster says squaw refers to an indigenous woman, so I can see why it offends. There’s no such thing.

North America has no indigenous people, only the descendants of the previously conquered. And to the Left, there’s no such thing as a woman. Attempting to define one is verboten in Newtopia.

The Department of the Interior’s task is little more than an effort to erase a past whose memory could inform the future. Seeing our mistakes helps us prevent their repetition, and Democrats can’t have that.

They are hoping to take us back to the heyday of the Marxist revolution—a two-class system not unlike feudalism but with better weapons to keep the peasants in line.

A means by which to erase that pesky middle-class.

Squaw might be offensive, or it might just be another thing, like statues of founders or Confederate flags. A cleansing of the landscape. The erasing of the history and the lessons of one culture to be replaced by the next.

Isn’t that what they accused the Europeans of doing to the people here before them? Erasing landmarks, history, culture – good and bad?

And Deb Haaland, a card-carrying member of the Biden Regime, wants us to believe that this is different and better?

Has she seen the new packaging for Land-O-Lakes? The leftists removed the Indian and kept the land. Talk about offensive.
