Did a Politician Trespass on School Property to Protest Anti-Grooming Bill?

Hilliard Ohio students staged a walk-out to protest new legislation submitted in Ohio similar to the legislation that was submitted in Florida. It would prohibit teachers from talking to young children in grades 3 and under from talking about sex.

HB 616 implements other prohibitions on public schools such as Critical Race Theory. CRT is notorious for blaming and shaming young children for racism and slavery, so it’s no surprise that some legislators are moving to remove that kind of harmful message from the classroom.

This kind of divisive and harmful message aimed at children was addressed by Condoleeza Rice when she appeared on The View:

Condoleeza Rice expressed what many Americans know about Critical Race Theory, it has a harmful message that is sent to both black and white children. It makes you wonder, what exactly are the students in Hilliard trying to accomplish. Do they want their student body divided over race? Or should we be working towards unity?

Whatever their goal, parents received some questionable communications from the administrators in Hilliard;

April 15, 2022
During all student events and any time students are on our school property, high standards for student safety and security should always be in place. On Thursday afternoon, Darby High School students held a non-school sponsored walkout, which was held in a safe space on our campus at the students’ request.

Without the consent of appropriate district personnel, an unauthorized person – a candidate for political office – entered school property without permission to do so. School administrators were not participating in the event, rather were supervising at a distance within view of the students.

Darby and district leaders were not notified of her intent to attend or of her presence on school property, in clear violation of our visitor policies. She was not invited by school administrators to attend the walkout and came of her own accord. She later posted photos of her trespass on social platforms along with photos that included our students.

The district requested the candidate involved remove and delete all photos online from the event. Further, we have filed a report with the Hilliard Division of Police, and we have notified her through our attorney that she is prohibited from being on any school property, effective immediately.

The district is also filing a complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission. It is disappointing when someone in our community does not meet the same expectations we have of our students and school families.

This was a unique situation and our parents can be assured that we provide a safe environment for our students and staff. In an effort to be transparent with our community we wanted to make you aware of this situation.  Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support of our schools and students.

Did a politician show up without approval from administrators. They told the parents she did, and that’s trespassing.

BUT, another screenshot floating around indicates the administrators approved Morgan Harper‘s visit to this walk-out:

Hillyrad City Schools Admin knew you were coming

Did organizers for the walk-out notify administrators before the event took place that Ms. Harper would be joining them? If so, why was there a statement submitted that indicated she was not approved to visit that day?

I left messages for Ms. Harper to respond to and a message with the Superintendent for clarification. So far, no one has called back to confirm exactly what took place that day.

Here is what was reported in the Ohio news:

Ohio Senate candidate Morgan Harper fired back Saturday at Hilliard City Schools after the district filed a police report accusing her of trespassing to speak at a student rally in support of LGBTQ rights.

On Thursday afternoon, about 150 students at Hilliard Darby High School walked out of class in protest of House Bill 616, which aims to ban discussion on sexual orientation and gender identity until fourth grade in all public and most private schools.

And this:

Student organizers spoke at Saturday news conference in support of Harper

Owen and Riley, two student organizers at Darby High who asked that their full names not be used for fear of retaliation and harassment, also attended Saturday’s news conference.

They told The Dispatch that hey invited a number of politicians to the rally, but Harper was the only one who agreed to show up. They said they notified the vice principal and other school officials about Harper’s appearance ahead of time and no one objected.

Something is not adding up. Either the Vice Principal knew or these kids are lying.

Parents need to get to the bottom of this. This involves honesty and integrity on the part of the school administrators. Let’s hold those in charge of our children to high standards.
