That Washington Football Team has Rebranded Again – And It Might Be “Worse” Than Redskins.

That Washington Football Team that used to pay homage to a mighty race of North Americans dropped that ball ‘cuz racism or something. Since then, they’ve made the NFL universe suffer the name ‘Washington Football Team.’ That’ abuse is about to end.

They’ve picked a name—the Washington Commanders.

According to reports, the team got 40,000 suggestions from fans, but in the end, they picked commanders because that’s DC. It’s full of commanders. I get it, like the people who were in charge of “mistreating” the native population, killing them, and driving them off ‘their’ land. We’re honoring those folks.

Really? That’s the best you could do?

Washington DC is full of sh!t. Did anyone suggest that name? How about The Washington Marxists (but I repeat myself)?

Tool bags, liars, thieves, crooks, schemers, tyrants, Debt spenders, despots, oligarchs. The Washington J6ers? The Nuclear Option. The Filibusters. The New Dealers.

There is a lot of nickname potential. We are, after all, honoring the folks in charge of things in those parts.

How about The Washington Meuller Report. Talk about a name built for goal-line stands. There’s hardly a carbon-based life form in the district who can get over that thing even years later.

It also works for hail marys.

Why should you care? Steve, why are you talking about the blasted NFL?

It is still a considerable part of the culture, and the post BLM protest rebranding fad was a thing. It’s a stupid thing, but a thing. Hey, we almost re-named the dog Ibram X. Kendi. We were going to call him Henry.

So it’s a cultural thing, and this chapter of stupid has landed on ‘Commanders,’ and whatever your thoughts about the team or the league, they did need to change the name. There have been very few years in the past 30 when this team played anything that looked like Football.

And going to the playoffs at 7-9 is lucky, not good.

Calling them the Washington Football Team was misleading.

If only the “commanders” after which they are now named had as many losing seasons concerning domestic policy goals.

We’d be much better off as a nation and a people.
