Please accept my infinite gratitude for your valiant and noble service to our country. I would like to personally thank you for your service and commitment to the United States. It takes a courageous and strong person to serve our country both stateside and abroad.
You have done both with honor and distinction. And just when you self-term limited yourself after honorably serving three terms as Collin County judge and Commissioner, the duty to serve your country and district yet again compelled you to come forward.
Like many Collin county residents, I, too, was under the impression that we sent a relatively conservative candidate from congressional district 3 to Washington DC. Boy, were we wrong! Rep. Van Taylor is not conservative by any means. “Rep. Van Taylor was one of only two Texas Republicans (of 23) who voted to create the January 6 Commission, which gives Nancy Pelosi and RINO Liz Cheney the power to harass and embarrass Republicans.” And it does not end there.
When we realized that Van Taylor was a mistake, we immediately looked for a true conservative to challenge him in the upcoming GOP primary. Van Taylor believed he was safe and invincible from being primaried, packed, and left Collin County to live comfortably near his new friend, Nancy Pelosi, in Washington D.C.
Your entry into the contest to run for the United States Congress was a much-needed answer. The answer holds the promise of dispersing the current clouds of despair with a renewed vision of optimism for congressional district 3.
It was a true blessing when you abandoned your quiet life of retirement and rose to the occasion to right this wrong. It was honorable and patriotic. It is clear to many of us that Van Taylor has nothing to offer us. He no longer stands for Collin County values. So, I ask the residents of district 3 to support you and your efforts both financially and with their votes on March 1, 2022.
First, taking office as Collin County Judge in 2007, you were at the helm as Collin County experienced phenomenal growth. During your tenure, you and the Commissioners Court reduced the county tax rate six times in ten years and instituted a homestead exemption.
In short, I, along with many Collin County conservative activists, offer you our heartfelt support and cherish the hope that your valiant effort to represent us in Washington DC will succeed.
