NH Teachers Union Files Lawsuit To Reverse Anti-Discrimination Law

The AFT-NH Teachers Union filed a lawsuit to reverse the anti-discrimination law that was recently passed in New Hampshire. Essentially that means that if they were to win, teachers would be free to discriminate against your child using the Critical Race Theory agenda.

If you look at their press release, you will notice that they do not include the actual language in the law. Why would they not want you to read the law? Probably because they don’t want you to see that teachers are not restricted from teaching history, facts, and information, they are restricted from discriminating against their students.

Here is the actual language in the law that you should read. You will see the law affirms our civil rights and provides your children the right to freedom from discrimination. So why would they want to reverse any anti-discrimination law? That’s a good question.

All public schools are funded by the State. Policies that exist in the school district, are based on federal and state laws. School districts are free to ignore state laws by rejecting the state money they receive, but we know they are dependent on state funding.

Randi Weingarten, who is the national president of the AFT, and has become so politicized, that any attempt to remove a radical political agenda like Critical Race Theory from the classroom, will face a court battle.

According to Reuters, recent polling showed that a majority of Americans support teaching high school students about the impacts of slavery (78%) and racism (73%) in the United States. But parents haven’t argued against that. The history of slavery and racism is part of American history that must always be taught in the classroom.

That continues under the current law.

The current law is aimed at preventing the discussion to discriminate against groups of individuals today, mainly your children.

Newsweek reported that:
The Economist/YouGov poll released on Wednesday showed 58 percent of Americans polled find the controversial circulum somewhat or very unfavorable. Only 38 percent said they viewed critical race theory favorably.

That’s because parents are fed up with their children being indoctrinated into a radical worldview instead of educated in history. But when you are a political machine, then any restrictions on their ability to push a political agenda on your child, will not be well received. Let’s face it, they want to use the public school system to push a radical political agenda on your child and they are not happy that our representatives said NO.

I’ve seen enough evidence from the schools in New Hampshire to know that they wanted to push an agenda full of prejudice and hate on your kids. I’ve looked at documentation and materials in Hollis-Brookline, Sanborn, Exeter, and other schools. Parents have pushed back in New Hampshire: https://abouthollis.com.

If you think that teachers are restricted from teaching about slavery or racism, then take a look at the facts. Read the anti-discrimination language for yourself. Take a look at an approved Civics program that was recently added to the list of approved Learn Everywhere Programs on the New Hampshire Department of Education website. You will notice izzit.org is included in the list of approved programs. Look at the videos offered, and you will see topics that are covered in their civics program.

Take a look at this video about becoming equal. The Civics program presents information to students about slavery and racism. This historical information is presented by history scholars and covers the subject in an informative manner. So any attempts to say that the teachers cannot do the same thing, is not true.

Watch the video yourself:

Why didn’t the AFT mention this in their press release to the public? Did they not want you to know that those who oppose the prejudice in Critical Race Theory, do want the history of slavery taught? They just don’t want it taught in a way that blames children for these historical events.

Even Condoleeza Rice described how she opposes the CRT discriminatory approach that blames young children for being white. That’s what the anti-discrimination legislation now prevents –a teacher blaming and shaming your child for their white skin.

This lawsuit is proving one thing, instead of uplifting brown and black children as Condoleeza Rice promotes, the union wants to continue down the path of discrimination and prejudice towards white children.

It’s clear by what the NH Dept. of Ed approved that the history of racism and slavery can and should be taught. But what’s absent from their approved Civics course is, a big dose of prejudice, hatred, and discrimination.

The unions should be out championing a quality academic education for children. But because they’ve become a big political machine, that doesn’t seem to be their priority.

I would welcome their help in advocating for quality academics in the classroom. One that uplifts brown and black children so that they are well educated in the core academic subjects. Let’s work together to offer them a path to success in life.

That begins by elevating the academic standards and tests. That continues by going back to a traditional classical curriculum that uplifts children through stories of courage and honesty. They can learn from historical figures like Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., –those who showed us all what courage looks like.

Parents are fed up with a political agenda that discriminates against their children.
So why is it, the AFT-NH insists upon forcing this in the classroom?

“God’s time is always near.  He set the North Star in the heavens;  He gave me the strength in my limbs;  He meant I should be free.”

Harriet Tubman to Ednah Dow Cheney, New York City, circa 1859.
